Casino mogul testifies for 2nd day in wrongful firing case

Casino mogul and prominent Republican donor Sheldon Adelson testified Friday he isn’t sure where he was when he and his second-in-command at the time crafted a list of reasons to fire Sands China’s chief executive in 2010. Adelson, CEO of Las Vegas Sands and one of the world’s richest men, told a Clark County courtroom he could have been in a plane flying over the Pacific Ocean or at any of his homes in Southern California, Israel, Boston or Las Vegas.

The slots parlor slated for Plainville remains on schedule with a targeted opening for June 24 and an increased budget. Operating as the Plainridge Park Casino, the slots parlor and its owner Penn National Gaming offered a quarterly report to state gambling regulators, saying their budget for the facility increased by $25 million to $250 million.

Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Las Vegas said on Friday a malware attack may have allowed hackers to steal credit card information used at its retail and service locations. The potential breach may have included names, credit card numbers and their CVV security codes but not PIN numbers or other sensitive customer information, the company said in a statement.
