Trump Plaza could be shut down for 10 years

Trump Plaza casino owner Trump Entertainment Resorts has filed a deed restriction on Friday to Atlantic County officials to avoid mandatory payments in lieu of taxes.

The restriction prevents any buyer from opening a casino on the property for the next 10 years unless the buyer is willing to pay the unspecified “release fee” to cancel the restriction.

New Jersey lawmakers have passed five bills on Thursday to help Atlantic City’s struggling casinos and schools and now heads to Gov. Chris Christie’s desk.

One of the bill, the Casino Property Taxation Stabilization Act, attempts to stabilize the city’ tax base by allowing the eight remaining casinos to make mandatory payments instead of property taxes for 15 years depends.

The Brian Hastings Scandal: A View the Poker World Doesn’t Want to Hear by James Obst

Lee Davy sits down with the Australian James Obst to seek his opinion on the Brian Hastings scandal, and what it means the game of poker.

Fuck the path of least resistance

It’s boring safe and unsatisfying. People follow it because they are scared of the alternative. It’s fear that pushes people down that road, fear and laziness.

It’s not often that you come across someone in the poker industry who has chosen a different path. It takes balls. This is a tribe, and people will do anything to remain a part of it. There are things that should be said, and a way to say them; there are images to present, ways to stand, and smiles sent to savage soliloquy.

Another Boring Article About Another Online Poker Bill Destined for the Trash Can

Lee Davy once again goes through the motions, as congressman with hearts in the right place do, as he brings you up to date with news of the latest online poker bill that is going to be ignored by whomever reads it.

Our politicians must be prepared to use violence. We need someone not afraid of pushing the right people in front of a train. Only then will anyone be interested to read yet another boring article on online poker bills in America.

Joey Barton is a violent man. He is one of the most vicious footballers in the whole wide world. Let’s hope that his namesake Joe Barton, a Texan congressman, also likes to punch people in those crinkly sperm holders, because poker needs it right now.

South Carolina State Senator, Lindsey Graham, recently reintroduced the Restoration of America’s Wire Act (RAWA) to the senate. A few days later and Mr. Barton threw his two-pennies worth into a marbled hall, when he introduced HR 2888 Internet Poker Freedom Act into this lardy-ass fight.

WSOP Weekend Review: A Dream Come True for Gorodinsky; a Bracelet for Hollywood; and Eli Elezra is the Top Stud

Lee Davy starts his Monday morning by delivering news of eight bracelet winners, over an action packed weekend, including Mike Gorodinsky winning the $50k Poker Players Championships, Eli Elezra winning his third bracelet, and Carol Fuchs causing an upset in the Dealers Choice event.

Everyone wants to win the World Series of Poker (WSOP) Main Event. I’m sure even the most stoic of professional poker players has had that dream. But when those eyes close, it’s a vision of the $50,000 Poker Players Championship (PPC) that invades most people’s REM sleep.

Everyone knows it’s the most prestigious event to win, outside of the big one, and the winner is often referred to as the best ‘pound for pound’ poker player in the business. It’s also an event that has 84 runners, not 6,683. I think that helps.

The latest winner is Mike Gorodinsky. He topped a field of 84 players – the smallest ever $50k field – including a very familiar face in a tough and tense heads-up battle.

Las Vegas Sands' only growing casino? Surprise, it's Bethlehem

Not long ago, Las Vegas Sands Corp.’s Macau casino money machine was running so fast the company’s gambling revenues in Bethlehem were little more than an afterthought – sort of like a cherry on top of a very rich cake. But a corruption crackdown by the Chinese government has hit Macau’s gambling industry hard, gouging casino revenues and sending Las Vegas Sands’ stock plummeting.
