RAWA opponents send letter to Congress as Sheldon Adelson’s pals push for ‘Lite’ version
The chances of Sheldon Adelson-backed Restoration of America’s Wire Act may be slim, but opponents of the bill refuse to budge from their stance against any federal ban of online gaming under RAWA.
On Thursday, The Center of Freedom and Prosperity led an alliance of close to a dozen groups in sending a letter to Congress opposing the proposed legislation.
In the letter addressed to House Judiciary Committee Chairman Rep. Robert Goodlatte, the coalition called RAWA an “outright assault on federalism.”
“The legislation tramples on the Tenth Amendment by banning state regulation of online gambling—further chipping away at the balance between state and federal governance. The bill would overturn state laws already on the books in three states and would prohibit states from selling lottery tickets online for their own constituents—rolling back at least another six state laws,” the group wrote.

Las Vegas Sand’s alleged link man to Chinese Government has been arrested for smuggling more than $4.5m cash to the United States in over a two-year period.
Ng Lap Seng has been arrested in New York on Saturday and were accused on Monday in federal court in Manhattan of repeatedly engaging in a conspiracy to obstruct and make false statements to US customs officials.
According to FBI investigations, In June 2014, Ng landed in New York with a $400,000 cash and told customs officials that the money was intended to purchase paintings and to gamble in Las Vegas casinos.
Ng and his assistant Jeff Yin have made eleven trips to the United States from July 2013 to September 2015, each time bringing $200,000 to $900,000.

CrownBet under probe for offering gambling incentives; Nick Xenophon wants ‘predatory’ pokie signs banned
New South Wales’ gaming watchdog has its watchful eye set on James Packer’s sports betting agency CrownBet’s latest advertising campaign.
The Office of Liquor, Gaming and Racing wants to know if CrownBet’s new promotion, “The Game Just Changed,” has breached NSW’s Racing Administration Regulation of 2012, which prohibits licensed betting operators from putting out ads that offer residents “any credit, voucher or reward as an inducement to participate in gambling or open a betting account,” The Sydney Morning Herald reported over the weekend.
The new advertisement, which made rounds in newspapers, online and social media, said: “Every time you place a bet, you’ll earn CrownBet rewards points to redeem at Crown Resorts. There’s nothing like it in sports betting. Start earning now.”
The OLGR said that it is going after sports betting companies that goad residents encourage residents to gamble.

SEC bans daily fantasy sports ads
Standing its ground on classifying fantasy sports as gambling, NCAA Southeastern Conference (SEC) has cleaned up DFS ads off their network.
SEC commissioner Greg Sankey has confirmed that ads for the DFS sites will no long appear on the SEC network.
SEC Network, an ESPN-affiliated television network dedicated for college games and other content related, has been working since summer to phase out DFS ads.
“Is it [DFS] a form of gambling, is it a form of skill game, and I think there is some question about that,” Sankey told WVTM-TV. “And I think the appropriate place for us to land as a conference on the SEC Network, again working with ESPN, is not to include that advertising on the SEC Network moving forward.”
