World Series of Poker officials have made it known that the Colossus will return for the second year when the 2016 series begins, and the winner will be guaranteed a $1m payday.
The World Series of Poker (WSOP) shows that it listens to its customers after announcing plans to secure a million dollar first prize to the winner of the 2016 Colossus II.
In 2015, the WSOP backed down from their plans to give $10m to the winner of the $10,000 buy-in WSOP Main Event after a barrage of customer complaints. The plans to hand a million to the winner of the world record breaking $565 buy-in event continues that theme.
The Colossus returns. It’s got a new name – Colossus II. It also has a new guarantee – $7m, $2m more than the $5m they promised last year when 22,374 entrants created a total prize pool of $11,187,000. No sweat there then.
