Poker on TV Gets a Boost Through Poker Central & PokerStars

Poker Central ink a deal to broadcast the Global Poker League on the 24/7 Poker TV channel, and PokerStars.tv ink an agreement with Apple TV, to bring their product to the TV screen.

Now that’s what I’m talking about.

When Poker Central announced plans to become the world’s only 24/7 Poker TV channel, and then launched with nothing but a series of stale re-runs, I was critical to say the least.

Today, I am in their corner, after picking up via PokerNews that they have inked a deal with Mediarex Sports & Entertainment for coverage of live and recorded content appertaining to the inaugural Global Poker League (GPL).

Three barrels of pure value featuring Nick ‘FU_15” Maimone slow rolling Josh Beckley; Mike Watson on the triple crown hunt, and Vanessa Selbst making bracelet bets with Dzmitry Urbanovich.

Nick “FU_15” Maimone delivered a class FU to Josh Beckley, after slow rolling the former World Series of Poker (WSOP) Main Event final tablist, en route to his whitewash at the final table of the PokerStars Caribbean Adventure (PCA) $25,000 High Roller.

Maimone played possum to perfection in the following hand courtesy of PokerNews.

Sean Winter raised to 180,000 from under the gun; Maimone flatted on the button, and Josh Beckley called in the small blind.

Professional Poker Players Need to be Better Role Models

The aftermath of Antonio Esfandiari’s irresponsible actions at the PokerStars Caribbean Adventure, where he urinated in a container at the table, demonstrates the negative publicity poker can receive when professional players fail to act as role models.

Imagine.

The inaugural Global Poker League (GPL) is in full swing. Mediarex Sports & Entertainment have cut deals with some of the largest non-gaming sponsors in the world. Poker is about to go from whale oil lantern to full blown chandelier.

Premier League Week 22 Review: City Creep Towards The Top

Week 22 of the Premier League saw Arsenal and Leicester held to draws allowing Man City to move to one point from the top with two tough home games against Leicester and Spurs on the horizon.

Arsenal drew away at Stoke. Leicester scraped a point against the already doomed Aston Villa. Man City stuck a nuclear warhead up the ass of Crystal Palace and blew them to smithereens.

Manuel Pellegrini’s side is now one point behind Arsenal and Leicester. They are even money for the title. They know how to win it. They have world class performers like David Silva and Sergio Aguero banging the ball into the back of the net.

City’s opponent’s, Crystal Palace, has been one of the Premier League’s most refreshing sides. At times, they have motored. Especially, their forward line. However, the wheels have come off recently. Alan Pardew’s men have failed to score in the last five games. They have conceded eight. They even lost to Aston Villa.

Collaboration and Innovation – A New Era in Gambling

The gambling industry may be a tightly-knit industry, but that doesn’t mean it’s a collaborative one! And while innovation is a current buzzword, the reality is that the barriers to entry for start-ups make true innovation far more of a gamble than the casino games themselves…

It’s a problem epitomised by the biggest event in the gambling industry calendar – ICE Totally Gaming. With many companies prepared to spend close to 6 figures on the overall build and promotion, making any kind of splash at ICE is beyond the range of most newly-established companies – even when they are comfortably outside the ‘start-up space’.

Punching above their weight

Four innovative young companies have joined forces to exhibit at ICE Totally Gaming 2016: allPay, BlockEx, Gamevy and W2 Global Data. All very different in their industry sector, maturity level and size – they shared an understanding that ICE could have a big upside for their business…
