Wynn Resorts finishes out 2015 up in Vegas, down in Macau

Casino operator Wynn Resorts finished out 2015 with growth in Las Vegas and continuing declines in Macau.

On Friday, Wynn issued preliminary guidance for its Q4 and FY 2015 figures, with expectations that its Macau Q4 revenue will come in between $552m and $560m, down from $761.2m in Q4 2014. Operating income is expected to take a bigger hit, coming in between $75m and $83m, compared to $157.6m the previous year.

Full year figures for Macau show similar shortfalls, with revenue in the range of $2.459b and $2.467b, while operating income will plunge to between $382m to $390m, less than half of 2014’s $895.2m.

It’s a different story in Las Vegas, where Q4 revenue is expected to rise from 2014’s $376.8m to a range of $387m to $395m, while operating income will rise from $51.6m to a range of $56m to $64m.

Wynn Las Vegas to launch sports betting app in February

Wynn Las Vegas is prepping up for the March Madness as it plan to launch a sports betting app next month.

Wynn Las Vegas is launching a sports betting app in February, which will focus on Nevada residents and the casino’s out-of-state visitors and hotel guests, Wynn sportsbook head John Avello told Legal Sports Report.

“We see it as not only a vehicle for the people that live in the state of Nevada, but for our house guests, who don’t have to come to the sportsbook if they’re at the pool or the club,” Avello said. “So we think it will be good for both those types of users.”

The app, which is two years in the making, will not make it to the Super Bowl but will start taking bets for the March Madness or the NCAA Men’s Basketball. Betting on horses is expected to be rolled out in the next six months. Wynn is working with sports betting app provider Miomni Gaming, which also provided betting app to Boyd Gaming, Paddy Power and another casino in Reno, Atlantis Casino.

Mondogoal crosses Atlantic, debuts cash DFS games in Italy

Daily fantasy sports platform developer Mondogoal has finally made its debut in the Italian market.

The Boston-based daily fantasy sports company teamed up with Italian online sports betting platform Intralot to introduce their football games in the European country.

In a statement, Mondogoal founder and CEO Shergul Arshad said the company’s entry into Italy will ensure that “Italian users will now have an enhanced gaming experience similar to our users in the UK and the United States.”

“Intralot is the first of our deals with online sports betting sites overseas. Unlike other who talk about integration, we have been heads down executing on this integration. As a Serie A fan and fan of Fantasy Soccer for 25 years, I hope many legions of fantasy soccer fans in Italy can now share in the vision and play [for] fun and for cash,” Arshad said.
