With Powerball’s jackpot now at $1.3 billion and likely to surge higher by Wednesday’s drawing, the U.S. multi-state lottery is offering the world’s richest grand prize that could go to a single ticket holder, officials said on Sunday. The pot pushed higher when no ticket holder had the winning combination of six numbers selected during Saturday’s drawing, when the grand prize reached nearly $950 million.

Indian state gov’t close to legalizing casinos in Maharashtra

India’s Maharashtra is finally laying the groundwork to act on a decade-old legislation that will legalize casinos in the state.

The Maharashtra Casinos (Control and Tax) act was passed and published in July 1976, but the government has yet to make an announcement due to a fear of adverse public reactions. Now, The Hindu reported that state officials have been ordered to speed up the process.

According to the report, the state home department is already “studying gaming and casino laws applicable in Goa and Sikkim,” including issues in taxation, in time for a final deliberation that will decide the fate of the casino act. A meeting with all the stakeholders, including law, tourism, home and revenue departments, has been scheduled for the end of January.

Back in October, the Bombay High Court gave the Maharashtra government six months to decide whether or not to permit casino gambling within its borders. The order stemmed from a public interest litigation (PIL) filed by law student Jay Sayta, who accidentally discovered the 38-year-old statute that permitted casino gambling in the state, including the bustling metropolis of Mumbai.

First junket-run VIP slot room opens in Macau

A junket-driven VIP slot room—the first of its kind—opened at the Jimei casino in Macau over the weekend, and industry experts are keeping a watchful eye on it.

Union Gaming Group analysts said the VIP slot room, which contains 130 machines, was funded by traditional junket investors, including a “junket investor who is a well-known VIP slot player at an existing Big 6 casino” in the city state.

The Big 6 operators—Galaxy Entertainment, Melco Crown, MGM China, Sands China, SJM Holdings and Wynn Macau—already offer high-limit slots, but the recently-opened VIP slot room is the first slot parlor that will be run not “like a junket” with a rolling program, providing services such as extension of credit, cashback and rebate on losses.

According to the analysts, the slot parlor’s opening indicates that the junket sector is willing to try an idea, which it wouldn’t even have dreamed of doing in the past, if it will result in a much-need boost to the sector’s rapidly declining revenue.

10Bet and RealDealBet are sure to knock out the competition at LAC with Evander Holyfield in their corner

London January, 2016 – This February 10Bet and RealDealBet will be exhibiting at iGB’s London Affiliate Conference for the first time and they plan to make a strong impact with a little help from five-time heavyweight champion Evander Holyfield who will be joining them at their stand.  Evander will be on hand the first day of the show to meet, greet, take photos and close some deals for his new sportsbook, RealDealBet.

10bet has been operating in the online betting world for over 13 years and is the preferred choice among bettors and affiliate partners.  Licensed and fully regulated in the UK, 10Bet offers their customers the best Live Betting platform in the industry, as well as one of the largest selection of sports events, number of bet types and exclusive rewards and promotions. At RealDealBet players will be drawn in by its unbeatable online offering, where they will find competitive odds, quick payouts and large bonuses. Both brands use SBTech’s award-winning eGaming platform and have successfully established a global presence, which guarantees record-breaking commissions for their affiliates.

10Bet and RealDealBet will also be holding a promotion for affiliates on Friday to win a GoPro Hero 4, if they can deliver the winning punch.  Throughout the day conference attendees will have the opportunity to visit the 10Bet and RealDealBet stand and take a punch on a boxing simulator machine.  A leaderboard will keep score of the top 10 strongest punches; then, at 16:15 the top five will go a round against Evander and whomever comes closest to Evander’s strength will win the GoPro.

The two brands have also arranged an exclusive night out on the town with Evander for a few lucky affiliates.  They have booked the VIP room at one of London’s hottest clubs where they will treat the affiliates to bottle service and the company of Holyfield and some other surprise celebrity guests all night.  This party is invite only, therefore the team is suggesting that affiliates contact their account managers to get on the list before LAC rolls around.
