Australian-listed casino operator Silver Heritage Group Limited has finally shown a glimpse of its Tiger Palace Resort Bhairahawa to the public with the soft opening of its hotel.

Silver Heritage told the Australian Stock Exchange that Tiger Palace has finally welcomed its first paying hotel guests on Wednesday, signaling that the construction of the integrated resort, which has seen several delays, is nearing its completion.

“The company is pleased to confirm that the development of Tiger Palace continues ahead of schedule and within the revised budgeted cost of US$51.8 million,” Silver Heritage said in a regulatory filing. “The first paying hotel guests are booked in for today, 20 September 2017.”

Before the soft opening, Silver Heritage co-founders Mike Bolsover and Tim Shepherd stayed in the hotel as guests on September 11 in order to observe construction defects and the dry run of the hotel operations prior to the soft opening.

Gambling expansion now in play as Kentucky pension crisis looms

Kentucky lawmakers are once again pushing for gambling expansion in the state to avert the possibility of a pension crisis.

WDRB.com reported that Kentucky is now looking at ways to shore up public pensions which they pegged at around $30 billion to $60 billion without hiking the current taxes. Among the options that these statesmen are looking at is to legalize sports betting and casinos.

Believing that casinos are the solution to plug the state budget hole, Rep. Jerry Miller mulls on pre-filing a casino gambling bill in time for next year’s General Assembly. He estimated that the state could earn $1 billion a year from casinos.

He, together with Sen. Morgan McGarvey, will make sure that the bill will be submitted before the year end.

Becky’s Affiliated: Three reasons why I love being a part of iGaming Idol

Next week on Tuesday the 26th I’ll be in Malta hosting iGaming Idol alongside Michael Caselli, an event I particularly enjoy as it celebrates my number one favorite thing in this world- people.  As we attend countless iGaming events throughout the year we’re aware of the hottest issues, the latest innovations, the best marketing campaigns, etc, but we rarely know the person or people who are behind them.

iGaming Idol- A celebration of people

“iGaming idol is the first industry awards event that recognizes individuals behind the products and companies that make this industry so special.  Other awards focus on the best partners, service providers, programs, suppliers or software whereas we look behind the scenes and put to the forefront the actual people that bring these important categories to life, such as product managers, marketing people, developers and designers, fraud and risk managers, compliance officers, human resources managers, online casino dealers and customer service people”, shared Jeff Buttigieg, COO of RE/MAX Malta and co-founder of MIGS Limited, the organization behind iGaming Idol.

“We envision iGaming Idol as an International platform that will be a force in the industry that will guide employers and authorities to further invest in their employees.  We believe that its an innovative concept that has been much needed in the industry”, Buttigieg added.

Poker routines episode #16: Timothy Adams

Lee Davy continues his Academy Award Winning column, Poker Routines, this time with a look at the routines and habits of Timothy Adams.

The first time I saw Timothy Adams he had blood pouring from his nose.

He was deep in the 2012 World Poker Tour (WPT) Grand Prix de Paris when the scarlet began flowing during a hand against the eventual champion Matt Salsberg.

Adams opened to 35k from the cutoff, and Salsberg joined him from the small blind. The flop was KdTs8d, and Salsberg check-called a 35k Adams bet. The turn was the 7h, and both players checked. The river was the Qh, and Salsberg led for 45k sending Adams into the tank.

Greatest poker player alive thinks Holz and co have too many flaws

Phil Hellmuth and Daniel Negreanu get into a Twitter spat over the former’s view that he is the #1 seed in any NLHE tournament, prompting the man to say Holz and co make too many mistakes.

Daniel Negreanu didn’t bag a new purple jacket at this year’s Poker Masters. He came close. And surely that means, Kid Poker still has it? Hasn’t time ossified his skills and reads ensuring he remains consistently above or on par with his peers?

If I had to rank my current skill level against the best I’d say I’m in the top 100. My goal by Jan 2018 it to crack the top 20.

Degree 53 shares insight on achieving a winning mobile casino UX in a new report

Degree 53, a leading online gambling design and software development agency, have published a new report in their series of Betting and Gaming UX Reviews. The second report evaluates the mobile user experience of ten leading online casino operators in the UK. The review looks at how their casino lobbies are optimised for providing an easy gaming experience, directing users to key tasks (e.g. register/login, play, contact the operator), as well as offering relevant content and useful information.

The experts at Degree 53 share their knowledge of what makes a winning mobile casino lobby and how to best optimise its UX to help retain users. The report contains reviews of brands, such as BetVictor, Gala, Paddy Power and Unibet, comparing their mobile offerings. These evaluations act as a guidance for operators to consider improvements to their products and what other elements they could introduce to make their products more user friendly.

Andrew Daniels, managing director at Degree 53 says: “Mobile gaming takes more than 40% of the online gambling market in the UK alone, which is an extremely important segment for operators. Winning and retaining customers is an industry-wide concern, and providing a great UX for mobile devices is something that could facilitate this. Users are very tech-savvy and have certain expectations of mobile apps and websites. If one of them takes too long to load or involves too many steps, they will abandon it in no time and go for another brand. ”

He continues: “The Mobile Casino Review follows our first report which looked at the UX of desktop online casinos. We received a very positive feedback from the industry and saw a big demand to do this for mobile. We hope this will provide a good overview of what could be done to create a modern and engaging mobile UX to increase retention. ”
