EPL week 5 review: Manchester sides dominate; Palace set new record

Week five of the English Premier League comes to a close with the alphabet separating the two Manchester clubs, and Crystal Palace setting a Premier League record that nobody wants.

Watford 0 v 6 Man City

Bookies favourite Man City sit on top of the Premier League, after humiliating Watford at Vicarage Road, albeit because the letter ‘C’ comes before the letter ‘U’ in the alphabet.

The victory wasn’t unexpected. The manner was. Watford has looked strong early doors winning two, and drawing two in their first four games. And although City came into this tie banging goals in for fun, Watford had kept three clean sheets in the past four games. So it was never supposed to be a mauling, but the Premier League is the best in the world because of its ability to produce the unexpected.

PokerStars partner with CARE International for Irma; bin Beat The Clock

PokerStars has once again jumped into bed with CARE International, this time to help provide aid to those affected by Hurricane Irma and Beat the Clock goes into the bin.

We all enshrine our first whirlpool in cellular celluloid. You’re in the bath sucking the water out of a plastic dolphin. Mum pulls the plug. It’s mesmeric, magical, magnificent.

When I look at satellite photos of Hurricane Irma, that’s where my mind takes me. To a time of tranquillity, calm, and wrinkled fingers and toes. There is something beautiful about it, and yet it killed over 80 people, injured hundreds, and left thousands without a roof over their head.

It was a reminder of the power of mother nature.
