Please donate to Official Barbuda Relief Fund’s GoFundMe page

The Consulate General of Antigua and Barbuda has launched an official GoFundMe page to help alleviate some of the terrible suffering caused by Hurricane Irma.

Barbuda was devastated last week by Irma’s Category 5 fury, leaving its 1,800 residents essentially homeless after 95% of the island’s structures were flattened. The island is currently deserted, as the government of Antigua and Barbuda evacuated all residents to Antigua as Irma’s followup, Hurricane Jose, bore down on the island , threatening even more destruction.

When the storms finally pass, the cost of restoring Barbuda to some level of normalcy will be staggering. Numerous GoFundMe pages have been launched to assist Barbuda’s homeless but the government wants the world to know that there is an official page to which people can contribute with the certainty that the relief will get to the people who need it.

The Official Barbuda Relief Fund page is managed by the Consulate General of Antigua and Barbuda in Miami. The page has set a fundraising goal of $1m, and all funds raised will be put toward immediate relief, including food, water, medicine, baby formula, clothing and building materials.

Sun admits that Gemaco card imperfections are irrelevant in Borgata case

The Phil Ivey v Borgata baccarat case takes another twist after the card manufacturers Gemaco reminds the court of an interesting revelation from Ivey’s sidekick Chen Yin Sun.

Phil Ivey’s fight to keep the $10m he won playing baccarat at The Borgata in Atlantic City is starting to resemble a World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) pay-per-view. Just when you think it’s going to wilt like over boiled asparagus, up pops a new twist to keep the saga rolling.

The last time I wrote on this subject, The Borgata had won, and Ivey needed to find $10.1m after a judge decided Ivey and his accomplice Chen Yin Sun had won the money unfairly.

Ivey, who firmly believes he has done nothing more than outsmarting an Orwellian casino industry, decided to push the case all the way to the U.S. Third Circuit Court of Appeal, but that punch-up had to wait until the Borgata settled their separate dispute with the card manufacturers Gemaco.

Philippines bust more South Korean online gambling ops

Philippine authorities are chasing down fugitive members of a South Korean-led illegal online gambling ring, while preparing charges against nine other members who weren’t nimble enough to evade arrest.

On Friday, members of the Regional Intelligence Division (RID) raided a rented house in Cebu City where a suspected illegal online gambling operation was underway. Nine South Korean nationals were detained, including two who are currently fugitives from illegal gambling charges filed in their native land.

RID Division 7 Chief Senior Superintendent Jonathan Cabal told the SunStar that the gambling operation had been under surveillance for two months before police pounced. Cabal called the operation “a big syndicate” than accepted wagers from overseas bettors in South Korea, Australia and the US, including individual wagers ranging as high as US $60k.

Police seized the usual assortment of computers, phones and log books from the house, which the gang had reportedly occupied for over a year. Given this timeline, police are trying to determine whether the gang has any connection with a different bunch of South Koreans who were nabbed for similar illegal gambling operations in July 2016.

partypoker make ladies feel comfortable with gender specific promos

partypoker vow to provide more value for their female customers with more ladies events, and gender specific promotions.

I’m sat outside of Starbucks, working, when I notice a young girl get out of one of those big ass American trucks that cause the Chinese to say that climate change is a hoax.

She is wearing a pair of skimpy jean-shorts. It looks like her father is driving. He doesn’t pull away immediately; he watches her, making sure she gets to her seat safely.

I don’t blame him.

EPL week 4 review: Bilic birthday gift; De Boer no more

Premier League Week 4 action ends with an in depth look at Huddersfield’s visit to the capital to face West Ham and the first managerial casualty of the season.

Last night, Slaven Bilic celebrated his 49th birthday with a victory over Huddersfield. West Ham Chairmen David Sullivan and David Gold allowed him to keep his job as a birthday gift.

The Terriers visit to the London Stadium was terra incognita, but it didn’t show. The former Championship side controlled the football for the majority of the 90-minutes as West Ham continued to look nothing like the Champions League chasing side of two-years ago.

Both these sides are going to need huge slices of luck this season. West Ham, if they are going to get out of their current mess, and Huddersfield, if they are going to avoid relegation, and it was the Hammers turn to find it in the 72nd minute after Pedro Obiang’s speculative shot struck Mathias Jorgensen and looped over the skull of Jonas Lossl.

It’s time to stop scraping the last few fragments of peanut butter from the jar. The Champions League group stages are set to spark to life, and the former Manchester United, Everton, and Fulham star Louis Saha has been giving BetStars the lowdown on the upcoming competition.

So, scrape what you have on your toast, pour the kettle, and let’s take a look at what the former Champions league winner has to say.

Louis Saha made 385 professional appearances at club level, scoring 117 goals for the likes of Fulham, Man Utd, and Everton; achievements that saw him elevated to the French national squad where he played 20 times and scored 4 goals.

Vancouver’s newest and biggest casino gets opening date

The city of Vancouver’s newest and largest casino finally gets an opening date after lengthy delays and much controversy.

This month will witness the grand opening of the new Parq Vancouver casino hotel, the $700m project by Nevada-based Paragon Gaming. The Parq, which originally targeted a 2016 opening, will hold a celebratory “first roll of the dice” at 11pm on Friday, September 29th.

Earlier that Friday, the Edgewater Casino across the street from the Parq will officially close its doors after 12 years of operation. Paragon is transferring the Edgewater’s gaming license to the Parq, a process that prompted no shortage of drama on the city’s political scene.

The Parq will boast a 72k-square-foot gaming floor, twice the size of the Edgewater’s casino footprint. Paragon originally planned to fill this space with up to 1,500 slot machines and 150 gaming tables – a significant boost from Edgewater’s 600 slots and 75 tables – but concerns over the impact of this expansion on local residents ultimately caused civic politicians to restrict the Parq’s gaming palette to the Edgewater’s limits.
