UK National Lottery online accounts hacked again
UK National Lottery operator Camelot is urging online lottery players to change their passwords following a security breach.
On Friday, Camelot issued a statement alerting customers that its routine online security monitoring had detected some “suspicious activity on a very small proportion of our players’ online National Lottery accounts.” Camelot has notified the police, the Information Commissioner’s Office and other authorities about the breach.
Camelot said the activity affected only a small number of online lottery accounts – roughly 150 out of 10.5m total registrations had been subject to an unauthorized log-in. “Fewer than 10 accounts” were subject to “some limited activity” after being accessed, but Camelot insists that “no player has seen any financial loss.”
Camelot also insisted that it was taking “all the necessary steps to fully understand” the scope of the intrusion, but had suspended all of the affected accounts and was working with the affected players to reactivate their accounts. As a precaution, Camelot urged all National Lottery players to change their passwords.

PokerStars, GVC, Paddy Power Betfair join US casino lobby
America’s top casino lobby group has welcomed six new members, including a company the group once called “a business built on deceit, chicanery and the systematic flouting of US law.”
On Thursday, the American Gaming Association (AGA) announced that it had added six new companies as Board-level members, including BMM Testlabs, Oklahoma-based tribal casino operator Choctaw Casinos and Resorts, Nevada’s Golden Entertainment, UK-listed operators GVC Holdings and Paddy Power Betfair, as well as The Stars Group, parent company of PokerStars.
AGA president/CEO Geoff Freeman said the newly “diverse membership reflects the interest of the casino gaming industry.” Freeman said the addition of these six “industry leaders” would allow the AGA to better serve as “an effective advocate for the industry as a whole.”
The AGA announcement is proof that, if you wait long enough, the world eventually turns on its head. In 2013, the AGA actively campaigned against PokerStars being issued a New Jersey online gambling license, marking the first time the lobby group had ever felt the need to intervene in a licensing process.

Betclic, Kindred win French okay for online poker liquidity sharing
Online gambling operators Kindred Group and Betclic Everest Group are the latest to receive European Union online poker liquidity sharing approval from French gaming regulators.
On Thursday, French regulator Arjel granted approval to Betclic Enterprises Ltd and Kindred’s SPS Betting France Ltd to share online poker cash games liquidity with the other three EU member states – Italy, Portugal and Spain – that entered into a four-way poker liquidity-sharing pact last summer.
Betclic is a homegrown French operator while Kindred entered the market in 2011 via its acquisition of SPS, which at the time operated the Eurosportbet brands, before rebranding under Kindred’s flagship Unibet identity.
To date, The Stars Group’s flagship PokerStars brand is the only operator to launch cross-border liquidity between its French- and Spanish-licensed sites. French operator Winamax received its liquidity-sharing approval from Arjel in February and the site reportedly plans to launch its French-Spanish pool as early as next month, assuming Spanish regulators approve the company’s local license application.
