My milkshake is better than yours: Heather Antos leaves Marvel to join Unikrn

esports betting platform Unikrn shows how serious they are about improving brand storytelling by hiring Heather Antos from Marvel Comics to act as Editor-in-Chief; meVu to open in the summer, and G2 joins ESP.

When you wake up with a child lying on your throat, a slipped eyemask letting the rising sun fire a shot into your bloodshot eye; you can feel a little hard done by. Add a failure to watch Black Panther into the mix, and it’s enough to send the needle into the ballsack.

I just can’t get it done.

My wife wants to watch it with me. To view a Marvel movie alone trumps infidelity such is the impact these marvellous movies have had on our minds.

EPL review week 30: Crowd trouble at West Ham; United beat Liverpool

Week 30 of the English Premier League sees mass pitch invasions as West Ham tumble to a three-goal defeat at home to Burnley; Man Utd beat their North West rivals Liverpool in a crucial Champions League qualification tie and more.

“Are you Cardiff?”

“No.”

It wasn’t a lie. I’m a Man Utd fan, and on this occasion, I was travelling to Wrexham with the lads to watch Cardiff. The question came from a man standing in the doorway. It felt like someone had rigged the entire pub with explosives.

Who’s the real leader in the poker POY race?

The first quarter of the year is almost over, and the race for the Player of the Year (POY) award is still up for grabs. There’s still a lot of time left until the award will be presented, but the impressive starts of a couple familiar faces—and a relatively unknown player—will turn up the heat.

CardPlayer Magazine’s POY leaderboard is currently topped by Toby Lewis out of the UK. He had a great start to 2018, taking control of the Aussie Millions Main Event and picking up just over $1 million in the process. He has now accumulated 3,780 points in the POY race.

Despite having about $500,000 more than Lewis on the year, Justin Bonomo is currently second in line for the POY award. He’s had some impressive high-roller tournament finishes but has racked up only 2,156 points in the race. The WSOP bracelet winner is only just ahead of Maria Lampropulos, who took down the PokerStars Caribbean Adventure tournament in January. The Argentinian champ has earned more than $1 million this year, and only trails by 56 points.

Out of those three players, only one appears on the Top 10 of the Global Poker Index (GPI) rankings—Bonomo. He currently sits in ninth with 1,371.99. The name that tops that list is a surprise to most: Greece’s Georgios Zisimopoulos is ranked first on the GPI with 1,631.11 points. He’s had four first-place finishes this year already, as well as several final table appearances. To date, he’s earned a little more than $2 million in live action, all of which has been at European-based tournaments. Zisimopoulos is followed by Nick Pupillo (1,618.23 points) and Joseph McKeehan (1.478.17).

Little-known investor Tang Hao poised to join Stars Group board

In a series of behind-the-scenes purchases, a Hong Kong investor has been gathering up shares of PokerStars’ parent company The Stars Group (TSG). The investor began his quest in earnest last year, but this only followed previous attempts to grab a major piece of the action. Those earlier attempts were rejected by TSG, then known as Amaya Gaming.

Tang Hao, a Hong Kong-based serial investor, now owns 17.9% of the company. It makes him, though his Discovery Key Investments Limited (DKIL), the second-largest shareholder of common shares. He signed an agreement with TSG to purchase the shares and to appoint an observer member to the company’s board of directors. Once the observer, Melvin Yanmin Zhang, and Hao received approval for some requisite licenses, they would both become full directors as per the agreement.

DKIL now owns 26,455,200 common shares in TSG. It sits behind Caledonia Investments who holds 29,353,153 shares. Since Hao solely owns DKIL, the recent purchase makes him the single biggest individual shareholder of TSG shares.

According to records, Hao could possibly the same individual that once backed now-disgraced former PokerStars CEO David Baazov. An individual by the name of Hao Tang was the former CEO of Goldenway Capital, a company out of Hong Kong that supported Baazov’s failed attempt to acquire Amaya in 2016.
