“Element invests at the intersection of enabling technologies and sustainable solutions in large industrial markets,” the “Our Focus” page reads.

Pennsylvania sets iGaming revenue, sports betting handle records in December

Pennsylvania’s gambling operators set new monthly records for online casino revenue and sports betting handle in December 2020, although it wasn’t enough to rescue the market from posting its first full-year revenue decline since 2014.

Figures released Tuesday by the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board (PGCB) show statewide gaming revenue of just $168.7m in the month of December, a 42.2% decline from the same month last year and the third straight month of sequential declines.

Pennsylvania Gov. Tom Wolf ordered the state’s casinos to close in mid-December in a bid to halt the further spread of COVID-19. As a result, December’s land-based slots revenue was down 77.5% year-on-year to $42.2m, while land-based table games fell 78.2% to just over $17m.

Retail’s loss was online’s gain, as online casino and poker brought in $71.6m in December, handily beating the state’s previous high-water mark of $59.8m set in October 2020. Online slot revenue soared 730% year-on-year to $46.25m, tables gained a lucky 777% to $22.6m and the state’s lone online poker site nudged up a comparatively modest 10.4% to $2.73m.

Nine Michigan casinos launching online sports betting, iGaming on Friday

Michigan’s online casino and sports betting market will officially launch on Friday (22), just in time for this weekend’s NFL conference championships.

On Tuesday, the Michigan Gaming Control Board (MGCB) confirmed that nine of the state’s tribal and commercial casino operators and their respective platform providers had been cleared to launch online sports betting and casino games as of noon on Friday. The launch comes 13 months after Gov. Gretchen Whitmer signed the state’s iGaming legislation into law.

The nine lucky operators are six fewer than received preliminary approval in December but the MGCB said additional final approvals would be granted in the coming weeks pending successful testing of operators’ online systems.

The nine online horses packed into Friday’s starting gate include all three Detroit commercial casinos – Greektown (operating as Penn National Gaming’s Barstool Sportsbook), MGM Grand Detroit (BetMGM) and MotorCity (FanDuel).

Mike Postle Loses Lawyer, Faces Additional Legal Problems

Mike Postle ended 2020 on a high after beating a $10 million lawsuit and filing his own $330 million countersuit in its place. Now, however, a recent ruling means he could be contending with new legal issues.

Postle, a player from Northern California, was originally accused of cheating by a group of players at his home casino. The 2019 lawsuit, led by Veronica Brill, claims that Postle had an illegal advantage in live-streamed games at Stones Gambling Hall.

A judge dismissed the case and Postle hit back with a defamation claim. But, in a twist of fate, he’s now fighting that claim on his own.

MGM Resorts drops bid to acquire BetMGM partner Entain

US casino operator MGM Resorts has abandoned its bid to acquire its online gambling/sports betting joint venture partner Entain plc, leading to a steep plunge in the latter firm’s share price.

On Tuesday, MGM issued a statement saying it “does not intend to submit a revised proposal and it will not make a firm offer for Entain.” MGM said it arrived at this decision “after careful consideration and having reflected on the limited recent engagement between the respective companies.”

The news sparked a massive sell-off of Entain shares, which pushed the price down more than 17% before the panic subsided. Nevertheless, the shares closed out Tuesday’s trading down nearly 12% from Monday’s close. MGM, on the other hand, is currently trading up 3%.

Early in this new year, MGM publicly expressed interest in acquiring Entain, its partner in the ROAR Digital joint venture, which offers iGaming/betting in multiple US states via the BetMGM brand. After receiving a cooler than expected response to its initial $11b all-stock offer, MGM secured a commitment from shareholder Barry Diller’s InterActive Corp to sweeten the pot by up to $1b in cash.

Is patience fogotten about?

I keep reading threads and it seems like people do not realize that patience is a key virtue of any winning poker player. The same goes for when I am watching others as I play. I understand recreational players wanting to get some exciting plays in while they have a limited time, but not by playing every hand. The same goes for people talking about the want to go all in because it is a waste of time to play freerolls if they are not guaranteed money.

Now, I understand getting bored or tired of playing, but patience is necessary if you want to be stable. I have mental issues and poker has helped me hone my ability to be patient in the time I have been back to it. I have even started getting in the money on a far more regular basis because of it. This is probably bragging, but I have moneyed in 4 freerolls on ACR in a day because I was not playing silly hands and being aggressive at the right spots.

So, if someone who has brain damage that causes him to exhibit multiple mental disorders can be patient and get constant, why aren’t you folks?:D

Free Lunch anyone ?

Shining a little light on the old myth that there is nothing you can get for free, bla bla bla..

There is very such thing as a free lunch.. I got so many free tickets from party poker including several random $22 tickets.. obviously no wager requirements..

Also at one time I got a $100 usd cash bonus from party poker 3 days in a row.. yes 3 $100 free cash bonus no restrictions no wagering requirements whatsoever.. I withdrew $200 of the free money before even attempting to even try playing with it..

Also pokerstars just randomly gave me and a friend $50 worth of free poker tickets a couple days before new years. Which is odd for stars to actually give something of value and both of us have not played there in a very long time.. also party casino scratch card where I got 3 $100 usd free cash 3 days in a row, same thing.. I never put money on that site in forever and only deposited maybe $100 lifetime on that site..

Playing with QQ

Gentlemen, several times I have read about how to play aggressively with QQ, especially in tournaments, including, I posted a hand with QQ a while ago, in which I bet, and received 3-bet, and i called. A totally unfavorable flop for me on which I folded.

Many at the time opined on going all in pre flop, and the reason was because I had a very “strong” hand.

I’ve been playing often, and I could see that usually when you get the 3-bet, the villain is always ahead, as much as nothing threatening appears on the flop.

Today I received qq once again, and received a 3-bet, I increased again and the villain was all in, and I was sure I was losing my hand, but even so I called, precisely taking into account some arguments in what I have read, both in the community, as in strategy articles.
