Learning to gamble within your means is an important skill, and one that a lot of men never pickup, resulting in large arguments with their spouse. An Indian man tried to find a way out of that last bit of the fight, gambling away his wife.

Gulf News reports Binod Kumar Shah, a man from Banka in Bihar, India, was gambling on November 11, and ended up losing more than he could pay for. To pay off his debt, he allegedly offered up his wife, Chanda Devi, to another man.

He returned home to her in the middle of the night, waking her up to tell her to go with the winning gambler. “[Shah] told me the winner would arrive at home the next morning and so you should get ready to go with him since I have lost you in the game,” Devi reportedly told the police.

The story seems zany until you get to the next morning, when Shah allegedly assaulted Devi when she refused to go with the winner. She then went to the police to report the entire thing.
