Melbourne, Australia. Wednesday 26 January 2017. There aren’t a whole lot of Pot Limit Omaha Hi-Lo tournaments to be played around the globe. Many tournament organizers skip the poker game in favor of more common played games like No-Limit Hold’em and Pot Limit Omaha Hi. But at the Aussie Millions, the largest poker festival in the region, the game was offered, and a lot of players seemed to appreciate it being part of the schedule.
A total of 86 entries into the $1,025-buy-in game were registered, making for a prize pool of AUD$64,350. AUD$23,800 of that was allocated for the winner.
While the Australians were out in force for this event, the final table was a bit of an international affair. Besides France and Australia, players seated at the final table came from Austria, Germany, New Caledonia and the United States.
The first place prize would eventually go to Corentin Hillion from France. It’s the first recorded cash for the Frenchman, a nice feat to have a win as first result.
