An Australian greyhound racing online affiliate has had its Facebook page taken down for violating the social network’s terms of use.
Australian Racing Greyhound (ARG) says its Facebook page was “unpublished” due to having broached Facebook’s edicts against promoting or facilitating online gambling “unless the Page has obtained prior authorization from Facebook.”
ARG has filed an appeal with Facebook based on the fact that greyhound race betting is “100 per cent legal in Australia.” ARG hopes to have its Facebook presence back up and running soon.
Anyone posting footage from a Thursday race at Australia’s Canterbury track would also have been spanked by Facebook, but for violating an entirely different prohibition. Spectators were left scandalized after jockey Blake Shinn experienced a wardrobe malfunction shortly after his horse bolted out of the gate.
