Cirsa Q1 revenue growth bucks LatAm forex woes

Profit of Spanish gaming giant Cirsa Gaming Corp. crawl edits way to 0.7 percent growth despite the devaluation of Latin American currencies against the Euro.

In a regulatory filing, Cirsa reported an operating profit of €106.8 million ($125.05 million) in the first quarter of 2018, higher than the €106.01 million ($124.12 million) it cashed in during the same period last year.

Cirsa’s operating revenue, on the other hand, stood at €417.15 million ($488.45 million), up by almost 1 percent from €413.09 million in Q1 2017.

The Spanish firm attributed the growth to the strong performance of its business in all of the countries in which it operates, including the 23 new casinos it incorporated in Peru, Panama, Colombia and Costa Rica.
