The World Poker Tour plans to kick off their partypoker sponsored WPT National London festival with a specially organized charity event to raise funds for the DT38 charity, set up in honor of the former West Ham footballer Dylan Tombides.
West Ham footballer, Dylan Tombides, had the world at his feet, when at the age of 20 he died of testicular cancer. It was a tragedy no parent should have to endure.
The Dylan Tombides DT38 Charitable Foundation was created in his honor. It’s hoped that the lessons his parents learned throughout their harrowing ordeal, can be used to prevent other tragic deaths of this nature. His parents believe had they known more about this disease in the beginning things could have been managed very differently.
On Wed, Jul 29, partypoker and the World Poker Tour (WPT) will be hosting a special £100 buy-in event, with 38% of the prize pool being donated to DT38. The number 38 is synonymous because it was Tombides shirt number, a number that West Ham have since retired – an honor that has only ever been bestowed to the England World Cup captain Bobby Moore.
