Tabcorp losing faith in UK-facing Sun Bets betting site

Australian betting operator Tabcorp Holdings keeps signaling that its struggling UK-facing online betting division may not be long for this world.

Ahead of Friday’s annual general meeting in Melbourne, Tabcorp issued a fiscal Q1 trading update which showed revenue of A$578.8m (US $443m) in the three months ending September 30. The sum is 5.3% higher than the same period last year, thanks in large part to strong gains in its gaming services division.

Tabcorp’s mainstay Wagering & Media division reported revenue up 4.5% to A$481.5m on strong digital activity. Overall wagering turnover was up 3.5%, with digital turnover rising 17% to A$1.1b while retail betting slipped 1% to A$1.55b.

Not all digital operations were worth celebrating. The company’s Northern Territory-licensed online betting brand Luxbet remains under strategic review after posting an earnings loss of A$13m in FY17, and Tabcorp said it expects to announce the outcome of this review “in the coming months.”

Asia Live Tech offers bitcoin casino software with online gaming license in Cambodia

It’s been an innovative year for Asia Live Tech. Kicking it with their new website and a brand new line of services, they could have stopped here for a little while. Fortunately for iGaming operators looking for new possibilities and opportunities, they decided to not rest on their laurels, coming up with two additional solutions that you can blend in one title: Bitcoin Casino Software with Online Gaming License in Cambodia. Let’s explore both of them.

Bitcoin Casino Software

The Bitcoin Casino Software part (also called Bitcoin Online Casino Solution) reveals a modern service, which is the creation of online casinos where payment methods accept cryptocurrencies, such as Bitcoin of course, but also Ethereum, Litecoin, Dash, and many others. Built on their White Label software solution, it is a turnkey solution for iGaming operators, where all technical difficulties are handled by Asia Live Tech. Web design, game implementation, payment methods obviously, hosting, protection against hacking and the essential management software to run everything.  They are in charge of all of this, only leaving the operators with marketing and communication to focus on.

It is a thrilling development, as the digital industries have been massively becoming crypto-friendly over the latest months, to the point where coins exclusively designed for its operations are now created by the hundreds. In such a rapidly growing environment, the natural move for Asia Live Tech was to streamline the cryptocurrency implementation, making Bitcoin payments easier to understand, use, and adapt to. Despite the breakthrough the digital currency has been knowing since the beginning of the year, it is still complicated to grasp for newcomers.

Setbacks hound Imperial Pacific casino 2018 completion

The Saipan government has expressed doubts on whether casino operator Imperial Pacific International (IPI) will be able to make its casino completion deadline of October 2018.

IPI reported that the integrated resort is at 62 percent in mid-September 2017. But the Saipan Tribune reported that Commonwealth Casino Commission Vice Chairman Joseph Reyes cast doubt on whether IPI will hit its October deadline. He noted the lack of workers needed to build the high rise casino facility.

“Even those tower crane operators are not easy to find,” Reyes said, according to the news report. “It was indicated that efforts are taking place in trying to bring U.S. workers here… I give [IPI] credit for that.”

Aside from the lack of manpower, Reyes also noted that the weather conditions also contributed to construction delays of Imperial Casino.

Glenn Straub brings New Jersey to court over PILOT casino program

Florida-based developer Glenn Straub is suing the state of New Jersey for what he described as an unfair imposition of property tax on the shuttered Revel Casino Hotel.

The Press of Atlantic City reported that Straub questioned New Jersey’s PILOT program before the Atlantic County Superior Court on October 14, as he complained that the state sent him a tax bill with $3 million excess.

“It’s crazy,” Straub said of the PILOT, according to the news report. “It’s not a casino, because the state says we need a license. They are penalizing us millions and millions of dollars.”

Under the New Jersey’s casino payment in lieu of taxes (PILOT) program, casinos will have to shell out $120 million this year instead of property taxes. The program was intended to bring balance to the wobbly New Jersey’s tax collection base amid left and right casino tax appeals.

Billions of dollars of Aussie punters’ money laundered in Vietnam, Philippines

Australian government’s gambling watchdog is warning punters to never deal with illegal overseas bookies like the way mothers forbid their children from talking to strangers.

Brisbane Times reported that Australia’s Black Economy Taskforce (BET) has sounded the alarm bells that illegal bookies based in Asia are siphoning tens of millions of Australian dollars from punters from the land down under through a high-tech money laundering system.

Authorities traced billions of dollars of punters’ money going to the Philippines and Vietnam.

The modus operandi of these illegal bookmakers is to lure punters – including the seasoned ones – in disclosing sensitive banking details, according to outgoing Racing Victoria integrity boss Dayle Brown. These illegal bookmakers use representatives in Australia to carry out the illicit scheme.

SoftGamings, an online casino platform provider and games aggregator, has released a new product: Live Casino Bundle.

Vladislavs Hveckovics, the CIO and co-founder at SoftGamings, specified that “SoftGamings offers great commercials on obtaining this product bundle. Former NHL enforcer launches a casino affiliate website

Sami Helenius is excited about his new project

Helsinki, Finland: Former NHL player Sami Helenius has announced the launch of his new business, a casino affiliate website called Kasino Curt, which targets Swedish casino enthusiasts. Helenius runs his business from Finland.

Of his new project, Helenius said, “When it comes to online gambling, Sweden is a very interesting country. A Swedish market survey by the Mediavision consultancy found that 61 percent of all new online gambling accounts set up over the past year were with internationally licensed operators. From an affiliate’s point of view, this means that referring Swedish players to online casinos should not be difficult, as long as the affiliate website has traffic. I believe that in a couple of years internationally licensed online operators will be allowed to apply for Swedish licenses. I am very excited about Kasino Curt.”

Helenius cannot promote his website in his native country, as in Finland only three organizations, which merged in the beginning of this year, are allowed to run gambling operations under the Lotteries Act. On the other hand, Sweden is reportedly pressing forward with plans to overhaul its online gambling market by ending Svenska Spel’s online monopoly and allowing international operators to apply for local licenses. If that happens, operators who continue serving Swedish players without a local license will face hefty penalties.

Wynn Resorts’ Vegas properties have best Q3 since 2005

Casino operator Wynn Resorts saw its revenue jump by nearly one-half in the third quarter thanks to its newest Macau resort and a solid performance by its Vegas properties.

On Thursday, Wynn released its financial report covering the three months ending September 30, in which revenue shot up 45.3% to $1.61b. Wynn reported adjusted earnings of $473m (+54.8%) and net income of $79.8m versus a $17.4m net loss in the same period last year, which was hampered by costs associated with prepping the opening of the $4.4b Wynn Palace integrated resort in August 2016.

Wynn Palace (pictured) reported revenue of $555.3m in Q3, not far behind the company’s original Wynn Macau property, which generated $567.7m. Wynn Macau’s revenue was up 16.2% year-on-year, while Wynn Palace was only open for 40 days in Q3 2016, rendering comparisons moot.

Wynn Palace’s VIP turnover ($13.7b) narrowly edged out Wynn Macau ($13.37b), but Wynn Macau played luckier, boasting a VIP win rate of 3.37% versus Wynn Palace’s 2.99%.
