Gaming Standards Association kicks off 20th anniversary celebration at ICE 2018

LAS VEGAS (January 30, 2018) – The Gaming Standards Association (GSA) is marking 20 years of bringing vital standards to the gaming industry. In fact, companies that supply 70 percent of the global gaming marketplace are or have been involved in GSA, and the organization’s award-winning standards are in use around the world, driving the industry to innovation and growth.

Now GSA will be on stand ND7-A at ICE Totally Gaming, where representatives will speak to attendees about GSA’s mission and its standards that power the devices and systems on display across the tradeshow floor.

“Over the past 20 years, more than 1,600 volunteers from over 190 companies have contributed their expertise to create 15 GSA standards in 9 committees. Their commitment is a testament to the power of collaboration. Our standards create the framework for innovation and reflect the combined knowledge and expertise of our members and the industry,” said GSA President Peter DeRaedt.

GSA was born out of globally recognized need to streamline processes and create standards that would spur growth, innovation, and revenue. Gaming manufacturers, suppliers, operators, and regulators have benefitted from GSA’s mission to facilitate the identification, definition, development, promotion, and implementation of standards to enable interoperability, innovation, education, and communication for the benefit of the entire industry.

Game Lounge acquires Slottracker.com – a site that gives more control to the player

The Affiliate Company Game Lounge, a subsidiary of Cherry AB (publ) – STO: CHER-B.ST – has acquired the site Slottracker.com and its unique solution in order to give all casino players a better overview and control of their gaming. The seller is US company, Innovative Game Solutions Partnership, and the two founders Thomas Starkie and Brett Lawson. The purchase consideration amounts to EUR 1 million, of which EUR 200,000 is to be paid 12 months after the acquisition. An additional purchase consideration of EUR 300,000 will be paid if the seller achieves certain objectives over a two-year period.

Slottracker.com is a site that can follow the player in every bet he or she makes in casino games. By choosing Slot Tracker, players are able to have their information saved about what games are played and bets made, as well as winnings and bonuses paid. This allows the player to follow the development and analyze which casino works best, based on their specific requirements and gaming methodology. The players who have so far recorded their stats in Excel, or in other ways, can now use Slot Tracker to have that control and instead focus more on the game.

Jonas Cederholm, CEO of Game Lounge, says: “The purchase of Slot Tracker complements Game Lounge’s already strong offering in order to help players find the right casino or other online games. We look forward to working with the people who built Slot Tracker to be able to develop new features that allow each player to gain more control over their gaming. Among other things, we want to offer solutions that can warn players who risk losing control of their gaming. With Slot Tracker we can combine these goals, and I think we are the only ones in the market with this smart solution.”

Anders Holmgren, CEO of Cherry AB, says: “Game Lounge is continuing to expand its business. Slot Tracker makes it even clearer that the company’s solutions give players access to information that provides an overview, so that players can choose a game more easily based on their own criteria. With the different service levels, players can choose more complete statistics, different extensions, and comparisons between their results and those of others – called Community Statistics. With Slot Tracker, we complement Cherry’s value chain and I look forward to the new features we will launch in 2018.”

3 Barrels: new books for Phil Hellmuth, Annie Duke and an e-mag from D&B

Three Barrels of a literary feel after World Series of Poker champs Phil Hellmuth and Annie Duke release their latest books, and D&B Publishing launches a new e-magazine.

We all have a book rattling around in our ribs.

I know I do.

But it sticks to those bones like a bluebottle on flypaper because it’s too hard to do. I know I sound like a pussy, but it’s true. Procrastination rules. The book will never get done.

Match IPL is rigged says man with very expensive dogs

The former franchise owner of the Goa Kings is involved in a legal dispute with Match Indian Poker League founder Raj Kundra after refusing to pay his franchise fee claiming the inaugural event was rigged.

Poker is a game enjoyed by millions of people sitting around kitchen tables, casino tables or bags of cement using empty milk crate tables.

It’s a form of entertainment. And yet there are still places in the world who believe poker is a game only the devil and his kin play; like India.

There is a war in India.

partypoker makes a Gruissem discovery

partypoker adds to their impressive roster of ambassador, hiring the Raising For Effective Giving Founder and High Stakes pro-Philipp Gruissem.

Like Haley Joel Osment, I began seeing dead people at a very young age. I would hide under the duvet as they marched around my room.

In my teens, I had two incidents that terrified me to the core. I woke each time at 2 am in the morning. I was awake, in my room. I tried to move. I was paralysed. I felt something on my feet.  I couldn’t see it. It scuttled up my body, sat on my face, and I woke up screaming.

These days, I wear a sleeping mask. My wife thinks it does what it says on the tin. I wear it because I don’t want to see things that aren’t there.

Wynn Resorts shares down nearly one-fifth since Friday

Casino operator Wynn Resorts is finding no safe place to hide from the bombshell sexual harassment allegations leveled against boss Steve Wynn on Friday.

Wynn Resorts shares fell 9.3% on Monday, after shedding nearly 10% on Friday, the day the Wall Street Journal reported claims of decades’ worth of sexual impropriety by Steve Wynn against multiple female members of Wynn Resorts staff. Both Steve and the company have vehemently denied the allegations.

The carnage wasn’t confined to American markets, as the company’s Wynn Macau offshoot saw its Hong Kong-listed shares fall 6.5% on Monday, the first opportunity the Asian market had to react since the story broke.

Adding urgency to the situation, Wynn’s Macau casino concession expires in 2022, and Steve had expressed optimism just last week that preliminary discussions with Macau government officials gave the company “reason to have confidence that our businesses will continue after the initial concession expiration date.”
