CHESTNUT RIDGE – Another runner-up Powerball ticket was sold in the NY metro region this week, and this time the store that sold it lived up to its name.
www.LoHud.com reported that Lucky Stationary convenience store, located in a strip mall at 6 Red Schoolhouse Road, sold someone a Powerball ticket worth $1 million, according to New York lottery officials.
The $2 Quick Pick ticket matched all five white balls in Wednesday’s night drawing, but not the Powerball. The winning numbers for the $1 million prize were 12-24-35-36-49.
Whoever beat the odds of 1 in 5.15 million has one year from the date of the drawing to claim the prize money, lotto officials said.
But no ticket hit the full Powerball jackpot, now $289 million. The next drawing is Saturday. A previous $1 million ticket was sold in North Jersey earlier in the week.
