Lottery officials said in a news release the record is thanks in part to sales generated during the rollovers that resulted in the $1.5 billion Powerball jackpot drawing on Jan. 13. It was also the best January on record for scratch-off ticket sales with more than $333 million. January’s sales total reflects a 32.75 percent increase over the previous high sales mark of $539 million in March 2015.
