Louisiana man claims $1M runner-up Powerball prize

A 60-year-old St. Tammany Parish man has claimed a $1 million runner up prize in the Powerball drawing held Jan. 13. Louisiana Lottery officials say Charles Schweitzer II, of the Talisheek community, held a ticket that matched all five white-ball numbers, but missed the red Powerball number in the drawing, which featured a record jackpot of $1.58 billion. The Advertiser reports Schweitzer on Jan. 15 received $700,000 after federal and state taxes were withheld.
