The popular tourist attraction now boasts a two-storey building, known as The Portal, which includes an interactive exhibition, reception, office space, educational area, restaurant and gift shop. Since it opened last month, hundreds of schoolchildren have already attended workshops at the up-to-date canal education and industrial heritage centre, at the site off Birmingham New Road.
