Tinian Dynasty closes temporarily

Tinian Dynasty temporarily closed its casino floor as it suffer the aftermath of the Typhoon Souledor.

In a meeting, Tinian Dynasty owner Hong Kong Entertainment (HKE), along with Spectrum Gaming, told Tinian Mayor JP San Nicolas that it temporarily closed the casino operation as of August 14.

HKE’s decision follows difficulties among tour operators to sell its two-island destination tour package, which includes Tinian and Saipan, as a result of Typhoon Soudelor’s recent devastation of the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands (CNMI).

The casino is also affected by charter flights unable to land on Saipan during its scheduled night as airports limit its operations during day time.

Paddy Power, BoyleSports on the lookout for more outlets in Ireland

Paddy Power and BoyleSports acquire more betting shops in Ireland as both aim to expand services and market presence in the country.

Paddy Power has been approved by the Competition and Consumer Protection Commission (CCPC) to acquire six Mulholland Bookmakers licensed betting offices (LBO), bringing its Irish estate to more than 230 shops.

The acquisition targets Mulholland LBOs located in Galway, Oranmore, Mervue, Claregalway, College Road and Dominick Street.

A privately-owned family firm John Mulholland Bookmaker is on the verge of major restructuring and has been approved by the CCPC to sell a number of shops. The Mulholland brothers Alan and Eddie plans to retain and continue to operate seven shops in Galway and Mayo.

United Auburn Indian to add $15m to California state fund per year

Under the new state tribal-state gaming compact, United Auburn Indian Community will add $15m to California state fund, annually.

Gov. Edmund Brown Jr. confirmed on Friday that he has signed a long-term gaming compact with Thunder Valley Casino Resort owner United Auburn Indian Community which will run until 2041.

Under the agreement, which can be viewed here, the tribe can increase the number of its slots machine from 2,622 to 3500; compared to the previous compact it signed with the state in 2004, under former Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger, when the tribe can have unlimited slots machines with the provision that it pay more to the state for each machine.

With the new agreement, the tribe can also establish and operate up to two gaming facilities only on those Indian lands held in trust for the United Auburn.
