Btobet presenting both the 1st casino-games and sports betting recommendation engine at ICE 2017.

Recommendation engines (RE) are arguably one of the trendiest uses of data science in e-commerce and entertainment markets today, but not yet sufficiently widespread in our specific iGaming and Betting industry. BtoBet is the first company in the industry providing both Casino-Games and Sports betting recommendation engine and will showcase its solution at booth S1 320 in London.

Nowadays, there are few sportsbook operators that have developed Sports betting RE for their own company use, and even fewer Software providers are offering only casino’s B2B RE. BtoBet’s combination of both Casino-Games and Sports betting recommendation engine, provides a unique experience to the players. After extensive tests and improvements, our development team has reached the current precision of the algorithm that rules the process, no matter if it is for sports betting or games.

Alessandro Fried, Btobet’s CEO highlighted: “We managed to reach the highest engineering levels. The automated engine avoids manual intervention and is extremely accurate. BtoBet’s intelligent algorithm tracks players’ behaviour and uses collaborative filtering to provide the perfect suggestions, for the most appreciated games, for each player or segment of players.”

ICE marketing campaign hits home with pre-registration up 6%

The World of theatre, Shakespeare themed, multi-media marketing campaign in support of ICE 2017 is proving effective with pre-registration figures showing a 6% uplift, year-on-year.

Senior Marketing Manager, Dan Stone, who has been responsible for implementing the campaign, confirmed the figures were ahead of where ICE was at the same stage last year.  He said: “Pre-registration figures serve as an indicator only.  What it means is that we have more people considering coming to ICE than we had at this stage 12 months ago. The majority of our pre-reg will be committed, long-term supporters of the brand: the additional 6% will comprise people who are new to the ICE experience and some who are lapsed former visitors.  The marketing team’s job in this last stage of the campaign is to focus energies on the new and lapsed segments with targeted messaging.”

The 2017 campaign developed by the ICE team has comprised 120 adverts run through 63 specialist B2B gaming media, extensive media relations and an engagement programme with more than 200,000 individuals working for 55,000 companies. This has been supported by a dedicated social media and digital campaign comprising Twitter, LinkedIn, Facebook, advertising and targeted e-shots. Overall, the campaign has engaged with visitor targets in 190 countries.

With exhibitors drawn from 67 jurisdictions and sovereign states, ICE provides the most comprehensive shop window on world gaming and in 2016 attracted a record 28,487 visitors drawn from 150 nations.

25,000 Challenge recap 2017 – Aussie Millions Poker Championship

James Chen Leads After Day 1

Melbourne, Australia. Sunday 22 January 2017. The year couldn’t have started any better for James Chen from Taiwan. Coming from a High Roller win in the Macau Poker Cup September last year, he was heading for Australia with a good feeling and some cash in his pocket. He played the $2,500 H.O.R.S.E. event last week and won it for AUD$39,700 ($29,322). He parlayed that win into a ticket for the $25,000 Challenge and turned it into a straight out win worth a massive AUD$861,840. His name will go into the record books as the winner of the biggest ever $25,000 poker tournament on Australian soil, with 133 players.

The second day of the $25,000 Challenge at the 2017 Aussie Millions saw 25 players out of 133 entries return to the poker room at Crown Melbourne. With just 14 players finishing in the money, it promised to be an exciting day. The day lived up to the highest of expectations with plenty of action right from the get go when the tournament director announced the shuffle up and deal at 2:30 p.m.

Dan Shak, Jason Pritchard and Sam Higgs were just some of the early exits. Another player to head to the rail well before the money stage of the tournament commenced was defending champion Chance Kornuth. He got it all in with ace-three against ace-king and did not get any help from the board.

Main event day one, flight one recap – 2017 Aussie Millions Poker Championship

Jennifer Tilly and Shane Warne Survive Aussie Millions Day One

Melbourne, Australia. Monday 23 January 2017. The first of three starting days of the 2017 Aussie Millions Poker Championship ‘MAIN EVENT’ drew a crowd of 212 players, up from the 180 last year, and it was Sam Ingham who came out on top with an impressive 160,100-chip stack at the end of play on day one.

After a word from Australian former cricketer and the countries best bowler to date Shane Warne, the action got underway, and Warne took his seat as well. The man who took over 1,000 test and one-day international wickets in his career managed to bag up 37,600 in chips for his efforts.

Things didn’t go well for Phil Laak, who was among the first players to get knocked out, and the same can be said for Jonathan Karamalikis. Sylvain Loosli, Sam Trickett, Annette Obrestad and Dan Shak were among the other casualties as well as WSOP bracelet winner and EPT champion Martin Finger who ran his ace-king into his opponent’s pocket queens, and that made sure he wouldn’t make a deep run in the event.
