Main event day one, flight one recap – 2017 Aussie Millions Poker Championship

Jennifer Tilly and Shane Warne Survive Aussie Millions Day One

Melbourne, Australia. Monday 23 January 2017. The first of three starting days of the 2017 Aussie Millions Poker Championship ‘MAIN EVENT’ drew a crowd of 212 players, up from the 180 last year, and it was Sam Ingham who came out on top with an impressive 160,100-chip stack at the end of play on day one.

After a word from Australian former cricketer and the countries best bowler to date Shane Warne, the action got underway, and Warne took his seat as well. The man who took over 1,000 test and one-day international wickets in his career managed to bag up 37,600 in chips for his efforts.

Things didn’t go well for Phil Laak, who was among the first players to get knocked out, and the same can be said for Jonathan Karamalikis. Sylvain Loosli, Sam Trickett, Annette Obrestad and Dan Shak were among the other casualties as well as WSOP bracelet winner and EPT champion Martin Finger who ran his ace-king into his opponent’s pocket queens, and that made sure he wouldn’t make a deep run in the event.

Week 22 EPL review: A great weekend for Chelsea & Arsenal

Week 22 of the English Premier League sees Chelsea and Arsenal move ahead of the pack after four of the top six sides all drop points as the title race flies into the second half of the season.

If Chelsea does go on to regain the Premier League title they loaned to Leicester City last season, then this weekend will prove to be one of the crucial plot twists.

Four of Chelsea’s main title rivals dropped points 24-hours before the Blues lined up against relegation fodder, Hull. It was a perfect opportunity for Antonio Conte’s side to put some daylight between them and the chasing pack. Chelsea had won all eight of their previous home games. Hull had lost all eight of their last away games. After 90-minutes both of those runs had extended to nine games.

The Chelsea boss only made one change to the side that beat Leicester 3-0 at the King Power – Willian making way for Diego Costa to return after two matches in the sin bin for suggesting money is more important than playing for the London club.

Front Runner welcomes Mr Green as TV company’s first sponsor

Front Runner, the UK’s only free to air TV channel, announce that online gambling company Mr Green becomes their first sponsor.

Do you remember when TV was free?

Ok, in the UK we have always had that stupid TV License thing, but you know what I mean. You bought a TV, got one of the kids to hold the ariel in position, and BOOM, you had three channels to watch.

I used to watch Big Daddy bumping bellies with Giant Haystacks on an old black & white. Then, one day, I heard about wrestlers called Hulk Hogan, Andre the Giant, and Macho Man Randy Savage broadcast in America on something called cable.

Triton Super HR Series returns; Polk questions Bilzerian’s ability

The Triton Super High Roller Series returns to the 2017 poker calendar, and a quarter of a million people tune into Doug Polk’s YouTube channel to watch him critique the play of Dan Bilzerian.

Last week, Poker Central President, Joe Kakaty, unveiled plans to host the third $300,000 buy-in Super High Roller Bowl calling it the ‘World Championships of High Stakes Poker.’

I think the Triton Super High Roller Series will have something to say about that.

This tumultuous Trident was born in 2016 when they partnered with the World Poker Tour (WPT) to host the $200,000 buy-in No-Limit Hold’em Triton Super High Roller Series event. 52 entrants created a $10m prize pool, and Fedor Holz took the $3.4m first prize. It was the foundation of what would become the craziest run in the history of the game.
