Week 23 EPL review: Chelsea move nine points clear; Arsenal lose at home

Week 23 of the English Premier League sees Chelsea extend their lead at the top to nine points after Liverpool, Arsenal, and Spurs all drop points.

Chelsea moves nine points clear at the head of the Premier League despite only managing a draw in a class tie at Anfield.

With Liverpool going out of both cup competitions last week, they had to win this game if they were to maintain a glimmer of hope in the Premier League title race. A Chelsea victory would move them 13-points clear.

It was the best attack in the country versus the best defence, and it was the latter who opened the scoring first thanks to a moment of brilliance by David Luiz. Adam Lallana brought Eden Hazard tumbling to the floor outside the box, and as Simon Mignolet was still organising his defensive shield, Luiz came from nowhere to fire a bullet into the back of the net to give Chelsea the lead.

PlayOJO.com, a new model of online casino, launched today with the promise of a fairer deal for players

The casino completely does away with punishing T’s and C’s, wagering requirements and match-deposit casino bonuses with arduous play-throughs. Instead, PlayOJO offers a casino industry first – OJOplus, which pays players money back on every bet, win or lose. And when we say money, we mean money, paid immediately, directly into their accounts, with no restrictions.

It’s all down to OJO’s unique philosophy which is not only about being trustworthy, transparent and fair but is also about rewarding players on the basis that their money is their money. In real terms, this means generous returns for players and no casino wagering requirements on anything. Ever. This puts the players back in the driving seat

Also swept away are those stale online casino site clichés: the sexist imagery, the neon signs flashing on dark backgrounds. It’s fresh, modern and playful, with an honesty and transparency that puts the players back in control of their money and winnings.

The new online casino is operated by leading software provider SkillOnNet, which is also the platform provider.  Ohad Narkis at SkillOnNet told us he believes OJO is a challenger brand that promises to shake up the industry. As such, the company has made a big marketing investment to support the new brand.

The 89th Academy Awards betting guide

The award season is in full swing, and the biggest event of them—the 89th Academy Awards—is less than a month away. The nominees have been announced, and it’s time to start punting on who will win this year.

At Bodog, the likely winners are starting to become clearer. “La La Land” continues to be the massive favorite to stand out among the rest of the movies at the Oscars. With a record of 14 nominations, the Ryan Gosling-Emma Stone headliner is favored to win a few of the night’s biggest awards.

The romantic comedy-drama film, written and directed by Damien Chazelle, is the early favorite to win the award for best picture with an overwhelming 1/6 betting odds.

Previous award shows may have already affirmed the status of “La La Land” as the favorite in several categories, but they have also helped other nominees emerge. “Moonlight,” which does a fresh take on the issue of identity, trails behind with 6/1 odds, followed by “Hidden Figures” with 10/1. “Manchester by the Sea” has 18/1 odds, while “Fences” has 66/1 odds of winning. Rounding up the list are “Hacksaw Ridge” with 66/1 odds, “Arrival” with 80/1, “Lion” with 80/1, and “Hell or High Water” with 100/1 odds.

Bitcoin ends sleepy streak as Trump’s action causes uncertainty

The price of popular digital currency bitcoin is up again after the U.S. markets dipped amid President Donald Trump’s recent executive decisions.

Bitcoin started the new year on a rather high note, reaching $1,140.64 in early January—its highest since November 2013. The dramatic rally, however, came to an abrupt end when the digital currency’s price plummeted to $885.41 following reports that the Chinese government is eyeing to introduce cryptocurrency regulations.

A lot of things happened since then: China’s central bank inspected three of the largest bitcoin exchanges in the country—BTC China, OKCoin and Huobi—which led to a discovery of “irregularities” in the operations that the government said caused bitcoin’s recent volatility. This, in turn, prompted the companies to overhaul their practices, which included introducing a 0.2 percent trading fee per transaction to all of their users. Since then, the market has returned to normalcy, and bitcoin’s price slowly recovered.

Now, that recovery appeared to be boosted further by the recent developments in the United States. Last Tuesday, bitcoin’s average price hit a high of $959.37 following news of Trump signing an executive order that bans citizens of seven countries from entering the U.S. over the weekend. Trump is also reportedly considering making changes in the H-1B visa regime, which caused the value of the U.S. dollar to drop.
