EPL week 37 review: Chelsea win their fifth title; Hull go down

Week 37 of the English Premier League sees Chelsea wrap up their fifth Premier League title with victory at The Hawthorns and Hull go down after a hammering at Selhurst Park.

If you live in the UK, there are a few things you want to avoid in the life. The first is to show your eight-year-old son Santa Claus’s flight path on the Internet at 3 am on Xmas Eve and notice the sled is above your house.

The second thing you want to avoid is a Premier League season where the 20 members of the cast rather selfishly bring the climax forward one week, leaving you with a sex without the orgasm sort of feel on the last day of the season.

It’s June.

3: Barrels: WPT hits South America; Daniyar wins in the Dam; Klatt class

Three barrels of a unique World Poker Tour vintage including a virgin appearance in South America; a first for Kazakhstan in Amsterdam, and another award for Andreas Klatt.

There was a time when the World Poker Tour (WPT) used to wind me up. I suffer from little man syndrome, a disease brought on by being short, working class, and living on a tiny island.

So, when I saw a title of a brand with the word World squeezed in, and then no sign of the brand ever taking their services to the World it tended to piss me off.

Today, I only get angry at baseball’s World Series in part due to the decision made by the WPT to pucker up their plumage and plunge headlong into earth’s population.

3: Barrels: Kevin Hart joins SHRB; Juanda REG auction; 888Poker brief

Three barrels of a Super High Roller Bowl/888Poker flavour including Kevin Hart’s inclusion in the cast, John Juanda auctioning 1% of his action, and 888Poker continuing to impress with the Poker Brief.

The final piece of the Super High Roller Bowl (SHRB) jigsaw has been found, and it contains the big smile of Kevin Hart.

The American comedian and poker enthusiast will take part in the $300,000 buy-in event at The Aria, Las Vegas on May 28, thus ending speculation on the final celebrity player due to join the cast.

Poker Central and Aria officials will be keen to get the cards in the air in what has been a long drawn out build up to the event. At the turn of the year, the organisers announced plans to place a 50-player cap on the event but changed their mind when more than 50-players showed an interest.

Poker to reduce suffering in the world with SCOOP and Powerfest pledges

Poker continues to make a difference after the PokerStars Spring Championship of Poker, and partypoker Powerfest High Rollers agree to donate considerable sums to charity.

Playing poker is great fun, but add a deep, meaningful purpose into the equation, and it becomes divine.

There was a time when the likes of Doyle Brunson would turn up for a game of poker with a pistol hidden from view just in case there was any trouble. These days, the game earns more money for charity than any other game on the planet and is right up there with the top sports in the world.

On Tuesday 16 May at 7 pm (GMT), partypoker will host their largest-ever online buy-in event. The online poker room added a $25,500 buy-in Powerfest High Roller after receiving feedback from the players, and today, they promised to donate all the registration fees to a charity of the winner’s choosing.
