Hundreds of private jets expected to descend upon Sin City this weekend

Leading aircraft charter specialist, Air Charter Service, is expecting a huge number of private jets from far and wide to flood into Las Vegas this weekend to see the ‘most valuable fight of all time’ between undefeated former world champion boxer Floyd Mayweather Jr. and UFC Champion Conor McGregor. The city’s four main airports; McCarran, Henderson, North Las Vegas and Boulder City, are due to see a massive spike in activity for the unique and controversial bout.

Andy Christie, Group Director of Private Jets at Air Charter Service, comments: “For the fight between Mayweather and Manny Pacquiao on May 2nd 2015, dubbed the ‘fight of the century’ at the time, the airports were jam-packed. Photos of McCarran Airport went viral as the taxiway had to be used as a parking lot for private jets. According to industry figures, provided by WingX, there were almost 500 arrivals on private aircraft on the 1st and 2nd May 2015 at McCarran and the three smaller airports serving Las Vegas – compared to 121 on the same dates in 2016 and 136 earlier this year.”

With some ringside seats at this weekend’s fight reportedly selling at more than $100,000, Christie is confident that this Saturday may even top the traffic two years ago. “Private jets are expected to be the preferred mode of transport for a relatively high percentage of the 18,000-strong crowd. We are certainly flying in more than we did two years ago – at the last count, we had aircraft booked for around four times as many people.

“With such high demand, it is no wonder airport authorities in the region released statements earlier this week requesting that owners and airlines make parking reservations ahead of time.” McCarran airport spokeswoman, Christine Crews, said: “We’re trying to be better prepared [than two years ago] and improve the guest experience”.

3: barrels of pure value including the outcome of Poker Night in America’s King of The Hill, 888Poker’s initial feedback on Flopomania, and a new poker room for the Microgaming Poker Network.

It’s been a great fortnight for Phil Hellmuth Jr.

Revealed as the newest host of the World Poker Tour’s (WPT) Raw Deal, Hellmuth added to his fame and fortune by defeating both Doug Polk and Daniel Cates to win the $200,000 first prize, and WWE style belt, in Poker Night in America’s (PNIA) King of the Hill tournament.

The action began on Tuesday when Cates beat Frank Kassela in under ten-minutes. The speediness of the game took PNIA by surprise and had to introduce some impromptu heads-up action between Cates and Doug Polk to prevent the stream from being a mockery.

EPL Week 3 Preview: Everton face Chelsea; Arsenal travel to Liverpool

Lee Davy previews the weekend’s Premier League fixtures including a great chance for West Brom and Huddersfield to maintain maximum points, another tough match for Everton, and Arsenal visits Liverpool.

Before we move on to this weekend’s fixtures, let’s take a look at our predictions last week.

We had a punt in eight matches.

We correctly predicted that:

New Jersey formally approves daily fantasy sports

New Jersey has become the 16th US state to formally approve daily fantasy sports (DFS) betting within its borders.

On Thursday, Gov. Chris Christie stopped drooling over someone else’s nachos long enough to put his John Hancock on the DFS legislation that has been sitting on his desk since the state senate approved S-1982/A-3532 in the first week of July. While the timing dovetails nicely with the imminent arrival of a new NFL season, the law won’t take effect for another 90 days.

DFS operators like DraftKings and FanDuel are already operating in the state, having received assurances from the Division of Gaming Enforcement that the activity fell under the umbrella of existing state laws. However, operators must now apply for permits from the state’s Division of Consumer Affairs, the fees for which have yet to be determined.

The new law will also require DFS operators to pay taxes on their gross gaming revenue for the first time. Operators will pay 10.5% tax on revenue derived from New Jersey DFS players and the state believes it could reap an annual $6.6m in revenue from the activity.

Cherry AB revenue nearly triples following ComeOn integration

Nordic online gambling operator Cherry AB nearly tripled its revenue in the first half of 2017 thanks mainly to last year’s acquisition of ComeOn.com.

Figures released Thursday show Cherry’s revenue jumping 192% to SEK 1.07b (US $133.5m) in the six months ending June 30. Earnings jumped 334% to SEK 176m while net profit nearly doubled to SEK 51m.

Cherry’s Q2 numbers were equally inflated, with revenue up 179% to SEK 536m, earnings up 524% to SEK 93m and profit nearly doubling to SEK 15m. Stripping aside contributions from the mid-2016 addition of Malta-licensed ComeOn.com, organic revenue growth was a still impressive 37%.

The second quarter was an active one, as Cherry finalized the purchase of the 51% of ComeOn! that it didn’t already own, while adding a 25% stake in gaming technology firm Highlight Games Ltd and boosting its stake in German-facing online casino and sportsbook operator Almor Holding Ltd.

Sh*t outta luck: casino boots gambler for soiling himself

A Kentucky gambler who was booted from an Ohio casino for allegedly soiling himself has brought new meaning to the phrase ‘shit out of luck.’

On Wednesday, a Danville, KY native who gave his name only as ‘Tyler’ to Cincinnati’s Fox television affiliate WWIX was asked to leave the local JACK Casino (formerly Horseshoe Cincinnati). The casino claimed that Tyler was shown the door because he’d defecated in his pants, but Tyler claims that this false allegation is a stain on his reputation.

According to the casino, which is operated by Rock Gaming, three other patrons witnessed Tyler tossing his soiled undies in the men’s washroom before returning to the gaming table. Other patrons reportedly complained of the noxious odors emanating from Tyler’s person, which the casino claims forced its hand in excreting Tyler from the premises.

Tyler called bullshit on the casino’s allegations, even providing WWIX with a photo of the unsoiled pants he claims to have been wearing at the time he was turfed. A casino spokesman claims they have visual evidence of Tyler’s shame, but they can’t release it without a court order.
