Fastrak chosen to help develop the Kazakhstan lottery
The leading supplier of point of sale display products to the lottery industry, Fastrak Lottery Solutions, has revealed its part in the re-launch of the Kazakhstan Lottery with new scratch card dispensers and promotional material delivered across the country.
Following the successful licence bid by Satty Zhuldyz to run the Kazakhstan National Lottery, the new operators quickly looked to revamp the point of sale units, choosing the Fastrak Lottery Solutions POD scratch card dispenser to display and dispense its new range of scratch cards.
To date Fastrak has built 1,000 modular scratch card dispensers which started rolling out in Kazakhstan in September 2017 with a further 2,000 installations planned for early 2018.

Digitain agrees Habanero deal
Platform provider integrates full suite of slots and table games

Tabcorp boss buckles down for global expansion after $8.8B Tatts merger
Tabcorp chief executive David Attenborough is not in the mood for a honeymoon right now following the gambling giant’s AUD11 billion (US$8.8 billion) marriage with betting rival Tatts Group.
The Sydney Morning Herald reported that Attenborough is already making business plans ahead of Friday’s implementation of the long-awaited mega-merger, including possible wagering expansion in the United States and pursuing online lottery licenses outside Australia.
Attenborough is confident that his expansion goals are attainable given the “strong balance sheet” of the newly-merged entity.
“Subject to us executing the integration, and that’s priority no.1, there are opportunities to grow,” Attenborough said, according to the news outlet. “And, certainly, one of the benefits is having a strong balance sheet.”

Ladbrokes close to saying ‘yes’ to GVC acquisition
Talk about third time’s the charm.
UK-listed gambling operator GVC Holding is taking over rival Ladbrokes Coral Group for a sum of £3.9 billion ($5.2 billion).
Citing two industry sources, Reuters reported that Lads Coraland GVC are finally seeing eye-to-eye after the latter’s two failed attempts to acquire the British bookmaker in December 2016 and early 2017. According to the report, GVC and Lads Coral are close to agreeing the final terms of the deal, noting that the two firms are expected to make their formal announcement any time soon.
The talks between GVC and Ladbrokes come at a time when the betting industry braces itself for fixed-odds betting terminals (FOBTs) restrictions. FOBTs have been the bread and butter of some British bookmakers, including Ladbrokes.

Global mobile gambling market to grow 19% in 2021: Technavio
The future of global mobile gambling looks bright as analysts expect the market to grow by 19 percent in 2021.
In its latest research, Technavio pointed out that betting remains to be the go-to game of mobile gamblers, taking up 54 percent of the market share in 2016.
The research firm, which analyzed the business dimensions of wagering, casino, poker, and lottery, also reported that the growth of the global gambling market will be fueled by gambling enthusiasts who are extremely passionate about gaming.
In 2016, Technavio noted that 73 percent of mobile gambling users were gambling enthusiasts, followed by “social exuberant and dabblers.”
