Ministry approves online sale for lottery tickets in Japan

Public-run lottery tickets in Japan will soon be sold online amid slumping sales, according to the country’s internal affairs ministry.

Japan Times reported that the popular Jumbo Takarakuji series, which offers a JPY1 billion ($9.19 million) jackpot, Takarakuji tickets, and the Numbers and Loto series may be purchased online starting October.

A ministry official pointed making lottery tickets available online is the government’s way to boost lottery sales. Data showed that lottery ticket sales in Japan started dropping after it peaked to JPY1.1 trillion ($9.19 billion) in fiscal 2005. Ticket sales in fiscal 2016 was at JPY845 billion ($7.77 billion).

The ministry recognized that the limited operations of lottery outlets near train stations, where 93 percent of Japan lottery tickets are sold, contributes to lesser sales. By making lottery available online, the ministry said that people may now buy tickets whenever they want.

21Bet payout on Wolves winning the EFL Championship

Official betting partner of Wolverhampton Wanderers 21Bet are rewarding fans and ante-post punters a nice boost as they are paying out on all bets on Wolves winning the EFL Championship.

At start of the Season Nuno Santos’ team were 12/1 to win the League and that price only shortened as Wolves got off to a flyer and built up a commanding lead at the top of the League.  Punters latched onto this and plenty of bets came in for them.

With the likes of Neves, Jota & Bonatini causing Championship defences loads of problems, Wolves now stand 12 points clear and heading for the Premier League.

The chasing pack have tried, but none has been able to get close to the runaway leaders and we cannot see anyone stopping Wolves clinching the title.

Elky: The box ticker leaves PokerStars after 11.5 years

Bertrand “ElkY” Grospellier leaves PokerStars after 11.5 years, leaving Lee Davy scratching his head as to PokerStars’ strategy for hiring and firing company ambassadors.

In 2008, Bertrand “ElkY” Grospellier won the PokerStars Caribbean Adventure (PCA) for $2m. The former StarCraft ace had announced his arrival on a much more lucrative stage. Over the next decade, partnering with PokerStars, ElkY became the first person to become Supernova and Supernova Elite, won the live Triple Crown, and created a few Guinness World Records along the way. The Frenchman also became the first player to represent an online poker room and esports team when he joined Team Liquid as a Hearthstone player.

ElkY will dye his hair green one day, and bleach it white the next. He travels the world playing video games for a living, and dates beautiful women who travel the world playing video games for a living. He has a Twitch Channel that commands the interest of over 53,000 people.

If anyone fits the mould of a sponsored player, it’s ElkY.

3 Barrels: poker tales from a lion; a lamb and a great dane

Three barrels with an Aussie Millions connection including results from the AUD 25,000 & $50,000 Challenges, and a former Main Event winner spending time in a Danish court.

It’s time for the Aussie Millions to rethink their High Roller strategy.

The $50k Challenge was about to begin. Sam Greenwood had a seat. All other chairs contained nothing but the ghosts of dead loves. Those who should have been playing wandered around the perimeter like a pack of hyenas. Greenwood is a lion. There aren’t many wanting to chew on that quality of flesh.

Three sat down.

Beating up poisonous pansies: Unikrn partner with MAINGEAR and Dash Radio

The esports betting pioneers, Unikrn, partner with MAINGEAR to offer purpose-built cryptocurrency mining gear, and Dash Radio to, well, speak to people on the radio.

I grew up in the Welsh Valleys. I own the former Wyndham Colliery Pit Manager’s house. My former father-in-law spent decades at the coalface. I’ve been down a mine myself.

So I should know quite a lot about mining.

I don’t.

Steve Wynn sexual allegations fallout widens

Sexual harassment allegations have prompted Wynn Resorts CEO Steve Wynn to resign as the Republican party’s main money man.

On Saturday, Republic National Committee (RNC) chairperson Ronna Romney-McDaniel confirmed that she’d accepted Steve Wynn’s resignation as the RNC’s finance chair. The announcement came one day after media reports of multiple female staffers accusing Wynn of decades’ worth of sexual impropriety.

Wynn, who has been among the Republic party’s leading financial donors in recent years, was appointed to the RNC role in January 2017, shortly after Donald Trump was sworn in as the new President of the United States.

McDaniel’s statement made no mention of the allegations facing Wynn, but Steve issued a statement on Saturday saying “the work [the RNC] are doing to make America a better place is too important to be impaired by this distraction.” Steve’s statement on Friday called the allegations against him “preposterous.”
