Craven needs to be part of a greater Yorkshire devolved body
Hidden among all the headline news is the fact that central Government support for local transport is to be cut by 37 per cent between now and 2020, and its support for local Government generally by 54 per cent, with 15 per cent cuts to environment, food and rural affairs programmes. This doesn’t mean that all spending on local Government services environment and transport will be cut by this amount – rather that more funds will have to be sourced locally by whatever means available – public, private and voluntary – if we are to keep key services going.
