It’s Game Time – Ladbrokes

Monday has been revealed as the new Friday after a survey by Ladbrokes Games showed a noticeable shift in online gaming patterns – with Monday evening taking over from Friday as the most popular time to play.

Throughout 2014, Friday evening between 8pm and 9pm was the most popular time to game online, however this has now shifted to 6pm on a Monday.

The survey also revealed that 13% of people have played online while on a date and 11% have logged on at a wedding. A further 13% have played at a christening.

The most unusual times at which people have played mobile games:

Zach Johnson wins the British Open; Jordan Spieth favorite to win PGA Championship

Zach Johnson has won the 144th British Open, capturing his second major title on Monday.

Johnson put on a world-class performance at St. Andrews’ Old Course, shooting in a curling, testing birdie putt on the 72nd hole to get to 15-under-par and then played a 4-hole playoff defeating Louis Oosthuizen and Marc Leishman.

Leishman was defeated by three shot in the playoff while Oosthuizen, who won this tourney the last time it was at St. Andrews, missed a 9-foot birdie putt on the final playoff hole, which gave Johnson the victory. Johnson joins a group of five other golfers who won at Augusta and St. Andrew, including Nick Faldo, Sam Snead, Jack Nicklaus, Seve Ballesteros and Tiger Woods.

Johnson was thrilled by the accomplishment of winning the Open and the Claret Jug that comes with winning the tourney and said that it would replace his kids’ sippy cups back home in Iowa.

Matt Savage’s View on Excellent Tournament Structures and Why I Think it’s all Related to Sex

With post World Series of Poker sensational news stories harder to find than a talking potato I turn poacher and plagiarize the hell out of a Matt Savage Facebook post on excellent tournament structures and why I think it’s all connected to sex.

A lot of my friends believe I know a thing or two about poker. Maybe that’s because I’ve played a few World Series of Poker (WSOP) events, talk a lot about the game, or write about it for a living?

Who knows?

They ask me a lot of questions:

Bahamas seeks to wrest control of Baha Mar casino project from developer

The Chinese contractor building the stalled $3.5b Baha Mar resort casino in the Bahamas is seeking the dismissal of the Chapter 11 bankruptcy proceedings filed by the project’s developer last month.

On Monday, China’s state-owned China Construction America (CCA) told a Delaware bankruptcy judge that it would file a motion to dismiss the bankruptcy proceedings filed last month by developer Baha Mar Ltd. The developer has also sued CCA over its alleged failure to meet construction timelines.

Late last week, Bahamas Prime Minister Perry Christie (pictured) announced that his administration was filing a winding-up petition in the country’s Supreme Court to wrest control over the project from the developer. In a nationally televised address, Christie justified the move by saying that the resort’s completion was “a matter of the utmost national importance.”

Christie said the winding-up proceedings were “designed to work in very similar terms as a Chapter 11 but with the stark difference that they will be controlled by provisional liquidators under the supervision of the Bahamian courts,” rather than by Baha Mar Ltd.

Samuel Bernabeu Wins $2m Guaranteed Venetian Deep Stack Extravaganza III $5,000 Event

Spaniard Samuel Bernabeu has won the $5,000 re-entry $2m Guaranteed event at the Venetian Deepstack Extravaganza III, after beating Doug Lee in heads-up action, on his way to his half a million dollar first prize.

Samuel Bernabeu has won the last big buy-in event of the Venetian Deepstack Extravaganza III after the silky Spaniard walked away with the top prize of $513,017 in their $5,000 re-entry $2m Guaranteed event.

It was the second largest cash prize of Bernabeu’s live tournament career, and it came at a time when his Hendon Mob live earnings graph line had started to flatline.

In 2013, Bernabeu capitalized on an impressive run of form with a fifth place finish in the $10m Guaranteed Seminole Hard Rock Poker Open. He earned $494,490 for that win and it’s a good job that he did. For the next two years he either took some time off, had a run of luck akin to an anaphalactic beekeeper, or was stood minding his own business when some creepy aliens were doing their crop circle business and decided to erase his memory.

BT Sport Set to Launch First 4K Ultra HD Live Sports Package; Champions League Moving Lock Stock, and God Help Us All

BT Sports have launched a series of new TV channels dedicated to the burgeoning 4K Ultra HD industry, including Europe’s first dedicated to live sports.

There was a time in my life when the quality of my TV set was more important than the quality of my wife.

Then I got a life.

But for those of you who are still stuck in the world of materialism like a pair of rubber lederhosen I have some good news.

June Delaware iGaming Results Down 42% Year-on-Year; Nevada Compact Not Changing a Thing

The Delaware Lottery release their June results to the dismay of iGaming enthusiasts that want to see this type of gambling prosper in the United States after total iGaming revenue rings in at a 42% loss year-on-year.

It’s been three months since Nevada and Delaware began sharing online poker player pools with their soft launch. A launch that is still not hard. The Delaware Lottery has released their June iGaming results and they continue to turn the cheeks of the states online poker zealots the color your finger goes when you tie floss around it too tight.

Total online gaming revenue for the month totaled $108,700. That’s down 18.7% on the $133,700 posted in May and $132,000 posted in April. If they take a look over their shoulder they will also see a 42% loss against the $187,332 earned year-on-year.

$30,700 of that cut came from the wallets of online poker players. That’s a 21.8% loss month-by-month, but rather interestingly a 20% betterment year-on-year. Don’t get too excited though as that was the worst performing month since action began in Nov 2013, and June’s total was the second worst of the year. It seems a certain percentage of Delawarean grinders bugger off to the World Series of Poker (WSOP) for their annual bucket list attempt at glory.
