Google will launch YouTube Gaming on Wed 26 Aug in a bid to create the ‘go to destination for anything and everything gaming.’ It’s great news for everyone involved in the world of gaming, including the poker community, because nobody likes a tiger living in the woods with nothing but rabbits.

YouTube Gaming will feature over 25,000 pages of gaming information. Content will be sorted by genre, and by content of video, making it a one-stop shop for very specific gaming content retrieval. The continuing rout on China’s main market prompted a worldwide sell-off Monday that sent North American markets into a tailspin from which they only partially recovered.

From Homeless to (almost) Middle Class

This is a guest contribution by King Krab. If you would like to submit a contribution please contact Bill Beatty for submission details. Thank you.

My name is King Krab, and for a short stint of my life, I was living out of my car. My worldly possessions could fit into a single moving box. I was eating scraps that people threw away, but I never lowered myself to begging. Then poker came into my life.  Let me start from the beginning.

Right out of college, I got a decent job offer from a large firm. I worked hard everyday, keeping to the grind. I allocated my time to work and dating, nothing else. No video games, no TV bingeing, no drinking or clubbing, no poker. For three years, I lived a moderately happy life. Then the workplace dynamic changed. Management changed. In came a fairly young and naive man who hadn’t had much management experience, still figuring out how to run things, and how to fit in–a blank slate to mold. Unfortunately, as the weak are preyed upon by the strong, a vicious young tiger cub employee, by the name of Jane (ed. Name changed) made it her mission to control and weaponize the new boss. After a few weeks of post work drinks and hangouts, her mission was complete. Although technically she wasn’t the boss of the office, she became the behind-the-scenes controller of everything. I went from management loving me for reaching all my goals and hitting my deadlines to management despising me because of untrue rumors that Jane had spread.

As I stood by and watched this slowly happen, I realized that this was how life was. Not only must you be good at your job, you must also take the role of a manipulator or else become the manipulated. You become a slave not only to your corporate overlords, but also to anybody willing to do whatever it takes to climb over you. This underachiever Jane, who accomplished almost nothing, became higher ranked than I to my manager. My boss hated my guts, and made my life at work a living hell. Soon after, I was put into a situation where I couldn’t handle it anymore, and quit on the spot.

State to auction 38 lots near Priest Lake

Idaho is putting up 38 Priest Lake lots for auction amid a push to remove the state from the business of leasing the land to cabin owners. The Spokesman Review reported proceeds from renting lakefront land had gone toward an education endowment, but disagreements over fair market value and getting a maximum return for the schools prompted the sales.

Jason Somerville Wins $2.5k Spin & Go Prize; Full Tilt Hire Mark Ody

Jason Somerville has won a $100 25x multiplier Spin & Go whilst twitching; a Russian player has won the $75k top prize on Full Tilt’s version of the jackpot lottery games and Full Tilt hire a new Marketing Director from Betfair.

They say game selection is everything in poker, but sometimes you just have to take a punt. That’s what Jason Somerville did at the end of his August 20 Twitch stream, when deciding to play one final $100 Spin & Go before calling a halt to proceedings.

It was a good choice. The Team PokerStars Pro was suddenly thrust into three way action with a winner takes all prize of $2,500.

“I have never had a 25x before. Let’s win this one. It would be a pretty sick way to end the day.” Somerville told his legion of Twitch followers.

Japanese pro Iori Yogo took the third place. Yogo had the slight chip lead when the play was three-handed, but Tollefsen beat him in some big pots, including the Japanese’s final hand.

“We were fairly even when play was three-handed. Then I started winning probably 80% of the pots for one hour and suddenly from all three of us being pretty even to having more than half the chips. From then I felt I had OK-control,” Tollefsen noted.

Xpressbet targeted by ‘DDO-ISIS’ attacks; Texas historical racing showdown

Online horse betting site Xpressbet.com was knocked offline this weekend following a “sophisticated, malicious” distributed denial of service (DDOS) attack.

The Stronach Group-owned advance deposit wagering site posted a notice on Monday explaining why both its online and telephone operations had been out of commission for a couple hours on Saturday. The company reassured customers that their personal data was not impacted by the attack.

The notice lost a few points by classifying DDOS attacks as “a form of cyberterrorism,” which gives these digital extortionists a little more notoriety than they deserve. It’s not really on the scale of blowing up Syrian antiquities, now is it?

Xpressbet noted that it and other ADW firms “have received several such attacks in the past few months, the majority of which were mitigated quickly and without interruption to your wagering experience.” Betfair US’ ADW site TVG also experienced some digital downtime on Saturday, causing hassles for bettors trying to put money on the day’s Pacific Classic and other high-profile races.

It's Hip To Be Square When You're Wearing One Of These 30 Pixel Perfect T-Shirts

They all said pixel art would become a thing of the past, a relic of the gaming industry left to gather dust with the cartridge consoles. But pixel art is still alive and just as square as ever, with gamers happy to play a game with pixelated graphics in-between sessions of their favorite amazing looking Next-Gen game.
