Colossus Bets and CORE Gaming launch world’s first partial cash-out slot with Sky Vegas

COLOSSUS BETS today announced the launch of ‘Fracpot’, a landmark disruptive slot for the gaming industry, alongside partners CORE Gaming and Sky Vegas. With its £1,000,000 jackpot prize the Colossus Fracpot game is the first slot to incorporate a cash-out feature.

Traditional slots are designed to be an ‘all or nothing’ experience for the player to land the jackpot prize. In contrast, the Colossus game will enable players to cash-out their position between reels being resolved, including the option to cash-out in parts and thus continuing to play for a part of the jackpot prize.

Bernard Marantelli, founder and CEO of Colossus Bets said: “Partial cash-out has become a sports betting juggernaut, with industry leaders such as Bet365 and Paddy Power this year following the lead set by Colossus Bets when launching our sports pools with the feature in 2013. We believe that the application of partial cash-out to other gaming verticals will have a similarly transformational impact. The Colossus slot is the first in what will be a series of gaming products enabling players to bank profits as they progress through a game.”

Justin Chamberlain, CEO of CORE Gaming commented: “Slots have lacked real innovation for some time and become a battle of the brands. This Colossus ‘Fracpot’ slot represents real innovation and as a result the interest from operators has been huge. We are delighted that in Sky Vegas we have a top tier operator who is first to go live with the game and we are looking to develop a suite of partial cash-out games with Colossus Bets.”

Mass., cities spar in court over Wynn Resorts casino license

Wynn Resorts’ Boston-area casino was the focus in court Tuesday as a judge heard arguments in the state’s bid to throw out a series of lawsuits challenging its decision to grant the company a gambling license. Boston, Revere, Somerville, Mohegan Sun and others, in separate lawsuits, say a state commission’s decision last year to award Wynn Resorts a gambling license was flawed and corrupt.

FanDuel refuses to be left behind, joins eSports fray with AlphaDraft purchase

FanDuel is not letting archrival DraftKings get the biggest piece of fantasy eSports pie. On Thursday, the daily fantasy sports site announced it has bought AlphaDraft, marking its entry into the fantasy eSports market.

The deal came a day after DraftKings, FanDuel’s biggest rival, announced that it will start offering fantasy eSports in its betting lineup.

“With over 200 million people globally watching eSports, AlphaDraft gives those fans a way to engage with this burgeoning entertainment product that creates an enormous opportunity for us,” FanDuel CEO and co-founder Nigel Eccles said in a statement.

Terms of the acquisition deal between the two companies were not disclosed, but Eccles called the merger between FanDuel and AlphaDraft a “win-win” situation for both companies. FanDuel, like DraftKings, is very much focused on professional sports, while AlphaDraft was targeted solely on professional video gaming.

Wynn Interactive Pull Interest in the New Jersey Online Gambling Market

Wynn Interactive has withdrawn their interest in obtaining an online gambling license, in the state of New Jersey; a move that has been approved by the Division of Gaming Enforcement.

Steve Wynn will not be pestering the life out of people in the back of New Jersey taxi cabs, after Wynn Interactive, a subsidiary of Wynn Resorts, withdrew their application for an online gambling license in the state.

In a way it’s a news story about nothing. Wynn hasn’t owned Atlantic City brick and mortar since the launch of Tetris. In 1980, Wynn built The Golden Nugget – on the grave of The Strand Motel – and turned it into the most profitable casino on the boardwalk. He later sold it to Bally’s in 1987 for $440m. It would eventually find the name Atlantic Club Casino and was shut down in January of last year.

Without a land-based casino in Atlantic City, Wynn had no choice but to find a suitable tag team partner. That turned out to be Caesars Entertainment Corporation, but then the honeymoon turned sour before anyone had even gotten to first base.

When the house doesn’t win: DDOS attacks target online gambling sites

Thanks to its explosive success, the online gambling industry is now ripe for extortion and distributed denial of service (DDOS) attacks.

Last April, UK-listed Betfair fell victim to a DDOS attack that took down its betting exchange and fixed-odds sportsbook. Malta-licensed Betat Casino also reported a DDOS attack from assailants who asked for 10 Bitcoin, or about $2,200, in order to stop the harassment.

New Jersey sites were also not immune to DDOS attacks. Last July, four of the state’s licensed online gambling operators experienced an initial wave of data flooding their sites for half an hour. According to the Division of Gaming Enforcement, the hacker warned of more sustained and powerful attacks unless the sites pay an unspecified amount of Bitcoin currency.

DDOS can be harmful for online gambling sites, where 60 percent of the transactions are carried out in real time. IT security specialist Gold Security said an hour of unmitigated DDOS means $40,000 lost for a business.

Calling the Clock: Tollerene Wins WCOOP Super High Roller; Rousso Nearly Wins Big Brother and More

Lee Davy provides you with his usual weekly poker news round up including all the highlights from the World Championships of Online Poker (WCOOP), a wonderful Big Brother performance by Vanessa Rousso, and much more.

The World Championship of Online Poker (WCOOP) is the dog’s bollocks. 70-events, $45m in prize money, and at the time of writing only 13 of those events remain before we start counting down to next year’s extravaganza.

It is the most prestigious, illustrious and exciting online poker festival in the history of the game. It’s an opportunity for poker’s atheists and agnostics to get shit done without a poker God in sight. It’s an opportunity to create a legacy, and that target has been peppered this week.

PokerStars revved the engine of this one by organizing the highest buy-in event in the history of online poker. It was $51,000. How long before we are staring at a million bucks per head?

Will it all be worth it?

NFL Week 3 Betting Preview

To steal a line from Forrest Gump, the NFL “is like a box of chocolates; you never know what you are going to get.” Week 2 certainly played out that way with Tampa Bay, Washington, Jacksonville, Dallas and Oakland all pulling off big upsets, much to the delight of bookmakers everywhere. This week’s slate sets up in similar fashion as teams like New England, Seattle, Arizona, Houston and Green Bay are expected to take care of their opposition with relative ease. Will the reaper show up at their respective doors as well?

Washington Redskins at New York Giants (-4, Over/Under 44, 68% backing Giants ATS): Washington has played solid football through two weeks and its defense, which ranks first in yards per game allowed, is the reason why. While the Redskins have turned heads with their surprising start, the Giants have done so with their inability to finish games. New York held a 23-13 fourth quarter lead over Dallas in its opener only to lose 26-27 and it squandered a 10-point fourth quarter lead in last week’s 20-24 loss to Atlanta. Perhaps the Giants need to spot the Redskins a few points tonight and see how that pans out for them.

Connecticut asks court to dismiss MGM lawsuit

Connecticut asked a federal court to dismiss MGM Resorts’ lawsuit to block  the state’s two tribal casino.

Assistant Attorney General Robert Deichert filed a motion asking U.S. District Judge Alvin Thompson to dismiss MGM Resorts International’s lawsuit filed in August, arguing that MGM has no legal standing to sue, offering a dry legal argument about timing, as well as a juicier suggestion the company fabricated an interest in building its own casino in Connecticut.

According to the motion, MGM’s Massachusetts casino license restricts the company to build other gambling developments within 50 miles, with an exclusion zone that covers north-central Connecticut such as Hartford, Tolland and Windham counties, large portions of Litchfield, New Haven and Middlesex counties and much of New London County.

The state also said that the law passed earlier this year, which MGM argued to have the Mashantucket Pequots and Mohegan, gave the tribes no legal right to develop anything. The legislature actually rejected a request by the tribes, which are trying to maintain market share for their casinos in eastern Connecticut, for authorization for a casino in the I-91 corridor north of Hartford to compete with Springfield.

Wynn Interactive Drops New Jersey Online Gambling Application Like It’s Not Hot
