Harsh punishments for NCAA athletes caught playing fantasy sports

Don’t even think about it.

That was the message NCAA executives have for college athletes who might have taken an interest in playing fantasy sports.

NCAA Vice President for regulatory affairs Oliver Luck said Tuesday any student-athlete caught wagering on college sports—even DFS—will face a one-year ban, according to Mississippi State athletic director Scott Stricklin.

“Listening to NCAA’s Oliver Luck speak this morning in Dallas. He reminds that any athlete found to be gambling on college sports (includes daily fantasy such as DraftKings) automatically loses a year of eligibility,” Stricklin posted on Twitter.

MGM Springfield is reducing the size of its 25-story hotel tower to just six-story as it moves to a new location. MassLive reported the casino operator had already abandoned the glass-façade design for the 25-story tower, but the new hotel design will still have 250 rooms crammed in six floors.

Michael Mathis, president and CEO of MGM Springfield, sent a letter to Springfield Mayor Domenic Sarno, explaining that the project will not reduce the $800 million cost of the project and could result in an increase in cost, according to the media outlet.

The new hotel site was originally for market-rate apartments, but the housing will be moved outside the casino footprint, MGM said.

IG clients pounce on market turmoil triggered by China and Greece

WPT Borgata Side Event News: Titles for Jonathan Duhamel and Anthony Zinno

CIAE 2015 Highlights

Having been successfully held during March 28-30, CIAE 2015 presented the best of what china has to offer the amusement, attractions and gaming industry domestically and globally.

Ben “Ben86” Tollerene wins the largest buy-in event ever organized in the online poker realm, by overcoming a tough field to win Event #47: $51,000 NL Hold’em (8-Max Super High Roller) in the World Championships of Online Poker on PokerStars.

PokerStars World Championships of Online Poker (WCOOP) is a state of affluence for Ben “Ben86” Tollerene. In 2013, he won the $21,000 WCOOP Heads-Up High Roller after beating Dan “MrGR33N13” Colman in the final for a score worth $200,401.

He has just tripled that score.

PokerStars created a little piece of history when they organized WCOOP Event #47: $51,000 NL Hold’em (8-Max Super High Roller). It was the largest-ever online tournament buy-in. It attracted 46-entrants, and yes, you’ve guessed it, Tollerene outlasted them all on his way to a pile of cash that could fill a sizeable crater – $616,518.34.

Will Davies Wins GUKPT Leg 7 in Luton for £65,500

Will Davies is the latest owner of a Grosvenor United Kingdom Poker Tour trophy after beating Gary Banks, in heads-up action, to take the seventh leg in Luton.

Will Davies is a Grosvenor United Kingdom Poker Tour (GUKPT) Main Event champion. Davies topped a field of 226 entrants in the £1,090 buy-in event held at the Grosvenor Casino in Luton this weekend.
