The 88th Academy Awards Betting and Odds

Were you planning on betting the 88th Academy Awards? Well then do I have 1,500 words just for you! Yes, this is something you can actually bet on and in some categories the odds are so ridiculous that you can probably expect a likely outcome. But there is some underdog potential at this year’s Oscars, or as I like to call it: “Mad Max Versus The World”.

ODDS TO WIN BEST PICTURE

The Revenant -160, Spotlight +200, The Big Short +300, The Martian +6600, Mad Max: Fury Road +6600, Room +6600, Bridge of Spies +15000, Brooklyn +20000

Yes, like all of you I’m betting the 88th Academy Oscars as if Mad Max: Fury Road is stealing the show but it’s not happening. The George Miller instant classic is a +6600 outside shot along with one of my favorites from this past year in The Martian.

Rush Street Productions Present ‘The Final Table’

Rush Street Productions have unveiled plans to launch a new TV series in the spring. ‘The Final Table’  will feature some of the games darlings, a shot clock and time bank chip.

When Rush Street Gaming’s Todd Anderson announced plans to launch Poker Night in America (PNIA), back in 2013, the show was hailed as a ‘one of a kind.’

Let’s make that, ‘two of a kind.’

Rush has announced plans to launch a second poker TV show. It will be called ‘The Final Table.’ It will debut on national television in the spring. Details on the gameplay are sparse, but we do know the action will include time bank chips, a 60-second shot clock, and a promise to attract some of the ‘some of the biggest personalities in the world of poker.’

Nevada Gaming Commission Hand Iovation a Class 2 Gaming License

Controversial online fraud protection outfit Iovation has upset the online poker apple cart after the Nevada Gaming Commission handed them a Class 2 gaming license to do business in the state.

‘Here’s Greg Pierson.’

Ok, I know for some it doesn’t have the same haunting feel to it as an axe-wielding Jack Nicholson, but it sends shivers down the spine of the poker purists.

Greg Pierson and his baby Iovation have finally smashed through the door of the Nevada Gaming Commission (NGC). They now have a Class 2 gaming license allowing them to practice their prowess within the state.

Jessica Chastain Offered Lead in Molly’s Game

Two-time Academy Award nominee Jessica Chastain is set to star in the lead role of Aaron Sorkin’s upcoming film based on the poker memoir Molly’s Game: From Hollywood’s Elite to Wall Street’s Billionaire Boys Club, My High-Stakes Adventure in the World of Underground Poker.

The one thing I love about playing poker is it cuts the class system to shreds. One minute you are playing against a steelworker from Port Talbot, the next you are sitting next to a world class actor from Hollywood.

The poker table is a magnet for Hollywood actors and actresses. Some like the action, others need the table time to prepare for upcoming roles. One such actress who may need to get some table time under her fingernails is the star of Interstellar, The Martian and Zero Dark Thirty: Jessica Chastain.

According to The Wrap, acclaimed screenwriter Aaron Sorkin has offered the two-time Academy Award nominee the leading role in his film adaptation of the memoir with the longest title in the world: Molly’s Game: From Hollywood’s Elite to Wall Street’s Billionaire Boys Club, My High-Stakes Adventure in the World of Underground Poker.
