Becky’s Affiliated: How to launch a new online casino brand in a competitive market

Larger affiliates in the online gambling space often catch the urge to launch their own casino brand. The transition makes sense as it’s a new and exciting venture with the potential for huge return if done properly, not to mention a big affiliate knows how to drive traffic.

What some of these affiliates fail to realize is the enormous amount of time and effort that goes in to launching and running an online casino brand and even if done well, the financial returns won’t come immediately.  However, if all these factors have been taken into account in advance, the successful launch of an online brand can be an extremely rewarding experience and also quite lucrative.

Sebastiaan Zwitser is a former affiliate and the co-founder of Casino Ventura, a new online casino brand in our space.  Zwitser spent some time with me explaining why he and his partner decided to branch out into operator-hood, how their casino is different, some of the biggest challenges they faced along the way and shared some advice for others who are thinking of launching their own brand.

Becky Liggero: Thank you so much for joining me today, Sebastiaan.  Lets start with your background in the online gambling industry and why did you decided to launch your own brand?

Dan Bilzerian Bike Bet: G4 is Now on The Line as Rick Salomon Joins The Party

Dan Bilzerian has increased the stakes on his bike bet by agreeing to terms with Rick Salomon that includes his G4 jet or $250,000 depending on whether he dies or suffers from brain damage.

The Dan Bilzerian bike bet has taken another twist after the bearded boy wonder agreed to terms with Pamela Anderson’s former hubby Rick Salomon. If Bilzerian dies or suffers from brain damage during the 48-hour bike ride, then Salomon gets to keep Bilzerian’s G4 jet. If Bilzerian completes the trip in under 48-hours, he will take $250,000 from Salomon’s pocket.

“If I have a heart attack and live, or don’t make it, bet is a wash. This is getting interesting, almost a million on the line now.” Bilzerian wrote on a Facebook page that has nearly 10 million likes.

It’s not the first time the name of Rick Salomon has been dropped into the bike bet storyline. Michael Kaplan recently wrote a piece in the New York Post stating that the originator of the $600,000 dare, Bill Perkins, offered the chance first to Salomon before Bilzerian decided to put his life on the life.

William Hill profit warning spurred by online gamblers taking time-outs

Shares in UK bookmaker William Hill fell 11% on Wednesday after the company issued a profit warning.

Hills issued a statement on Wednesday saying trading in the year through March 20 had been “weaker than expected” primarily due to a 1.9 percentage point fall in gross win margins and a rise in the number of online customers taking self-imposed breaks from gambling activity.

The margin decline was blamed on unfavorable European football results and what the company characterized as “the worst Cheltenham results in recent history.” Last week’s racing extravaganza saw an unusual number of favorites live up to their advance billing, with total UK bookmaker losses estimated to be over £60m.

Hills also said its online business had experienced “an acceleration in the number of time-outs and automatic self-exclusions over recent weeks.” On a call with analysts, Hills CEO James Henderson said around 3k accounts had opted for self-exclusion since the start of the year, a 50% increase over the same period last year, cutting profit by about £2m.

Brussels Attacks: What Does This Mean For Poker?

The European poker community is vast and with most of the countries now in a high state of alert Lee Davy shares his view on how he would change his ways if he were a traveling poker player.

As I walked through the streets of Cardiff, this morning I thought everyone was a terrorist. It reminded me of the scene in The Matrix when Morpheus was teaching Neo about the danger of Agents during the ‘Woman in the Red Dress’ program.

“It’s another training program designed to teach you one thing. If you are not one of us, you are one of them,” Said Morpheus. “They can move in and out of any software still hard wired to their system. That means that anyone we haven’t unplugged is potentially an agent. Inside the Matrix, they are everyone and they are no one. We survived by hiding from them, by running from them. But they are the gatekeepers. They are guarding all the doors. They are holding all the keys, which means that sooner or later, someone is going to have to fight them.”

How can you fight something you cannot see?
