Jimei expands presence in Australia with The Star junket deal
Junket investor Jimei International Entertainment Group Ltd is spreading its reach in Australia.
Back in November, the Hong Kong-listed firm entered a junket agreement with The Star Entertainment Group Ltd., which will see Jimei promote “not less” than six gaming tales within the casino company’s The Star Casino in Sydney, Jimei International announced in its 2015 annual report.
This isn’t Jimei’s first junket deal in the land down under. In February 2015, the junket investor signed a similar deal with The Star’s rival Crown Resorts for the promotion of between eight to 10 gaming tables at the Crown Perth Casino, located in Western Australia.
“The group shall continue to explore the possibility of further extending its business into the gaming and entertainment market to further broaden its income sources,” Jimei International chairman Jack Lam Yin Lok wrote in a statement, adding that the company plans to diversify its business “in the long run.”

The BiG Sports Dinner, the only sports dinner in the Betting and Gambling industry, has raised funds for several charities over the years. The charities to be supported by the Malta event include Restart Rugby, Reaching Out and the Malta Community Chest Fund.
Initial response from sponsors has been overwhelming and the organisers are anticipating both record attendance and proceeds to be collected by the end of the evening. The dinner will be attended by the President of Malta, H.E. Mary Louise Coleiro Preca.

On Wednesday, lawyers for Steve Wynn’s ex-wife, Elaine Wynn, filed a motion in the Nevada Clark County Court asking the court to compel Miller to answer more questions in a deposition.
In her latest legal action, Elaine Wynn alleged the casino company “lacks effective internal controls, including a strong and independent board” because nearly all power has been assumed by her former husband.
Elaine Wynn has an axe to grind with Miller. The former governor of Nevada was the head of the nominating and corporate governance committee of the Wynn Resorts board that turned down efforts to re-nominate the former Mrs. Wynn to the board in 2015.
