Premier League Review Week 33: It’s As You Are

In this week’s Premier League Review it’s a case of ‘as you are’ as both Leicester and Spurs pick up vital wins against Sunderland and Man Utd in the most exciting Premier League race in history.

It was a crucial game.

Sunderland fighting for their lives and Leicester fighting for the most unlikeliest of Premier League titles in history.

When these two squared off at the beginning of the season, Leicester City were 5,000-1 to win the Premier League. Even when they won 4-2, the odds didn’t change. And why should they? There was no way on earth that Leicester City could win the Premier League.

eSports is Responsible for 21.3% of Twitch Viewership; Twitch and FaceIt Create New league

The eSports industry is responsible for 21.3% of Twitch’s viewership according to a new report released by Newzoo last week, and Twitch partner with Faceit to launch new league.

I like football.

It’s simple.

I live in the UK, and the game I love is played out via the English football league system. There are over 140 individual leagues, and 480 divisions, and while the sheer weight of numbers may seem complicated it’s simple. The pyramid system means every team can one day climb through the ranks and winning the Premier League.

Duhamel Inks Deal With Société des casinos du Québec; Online Censorship Bill 74 Creates Furor

Former World Series of Poker Main Event champion, Jonathan Duhamel, has inked a deal to represent Société des casinos du Québec, and a bill proposed to censor online gambling in the state creates a few ripples

Jonathan Duhamel has inked a deal that will see him act in the role of ambassador for the Société des casinos du Québec (SCQ). He will represent the casino overseer in the forthcoming World Series of Poker Circuit (WSOPC) event set to take part in the Casino de Montréal April 20 – May 1, and a selection of online games.

The SCQ is a subsidiary of Loto-Québec, the government led arm that manages the lotteries in the province and is the all-seeing eye established in 1992 to make sure the regions four government-run casinos don’t get up to any funny business. Those casinos are the Casino de Montréal, the Casino du Lac-Leamy, the Casino de Mont-Tremblant, and the Casino de Charlevoix.

In 2010, Duhamel came from absolutely nowhere to become the first Canadian to win the WSOP Main Event and win $8,944,310 (the fourth largest in the event’s history). He has since gone on to be one of the most successful WSOP Main Event champions of all time winning a further two bracelets and over $17.5m in live tournament earnings.

Play in the Official Table Foosball Championship at BOFCON

The industry’s best table football players will have the opportunity to test their mettle against each other at next month’s Betting on Football Conference (BOFCON) at Stamford Bridge Stadium, after SBC Events announced the launch of the inaugural Betting Industry Foosball Tournament.

The new #betfoos tournament will be sponsored by Betradar, a brand of Sportradar, and a global leader in understanding and leveraging the power of sports data and digital content for its clients around the world.

All delegates at the third annual Betting on Football Conference can enter, and the tournament will run during the evening networking party. Pit yourself against your contemporaries in the industry and take the foosball table triumphantly back to your office (or home – we won’t judge you).

Andrew McCarron, SBC Managing Director, confirmed: “We are introducing delegate competitions, including the Official Table Foosball Championship sponsored by Sportradar, where you will compete against other delegates. The top prize is a world-class Table Foosball game; a prize certainly worth winning.”
