CG Technology’s Nevada gaming license in jeopardy for ignoring software glitch

Sportsbook operator CG Technology (CGT) could lose its Nevada gaming license after being accused of ignoring a software glitch that miscalculated thousands of parlay wagers over a three-and-a-half-year period.

On Monday, the Nevada Gaming Control Board (NGCB) filed a formal complaint against CGT, alleging that the company had been aware of “systemic problems” in its bookmaking software, yet did nothing to fix the glitch and initially attempted to interfere with the NGCB’s investigation.

The complaint, which was submitted by Nevada Attorney General Adam Laxalt, includes six separate counts against CGT. Each count carries the possibility of a $100k penalty.

The NGCB is also pursuing disciplinary action against CGT’s Nevada gaming license. The Nevada Gaming Commission is expected to consider the matter at its next meeting in June.

Delaware iGaming Revenue Hits Record High in April

Online gambling in Delaware might not be setting the iGaming world alight but trends in the right direction after an April revenue haul of $267,801 broke all previous records.

With just under a million people, Delaware was never going to be attractive enough to turn heads when it joined Nevada as the second state in the United States to offer their residents a fully regulated and legal online gambling arena.

Let’s not fool ourselves into believing small fries aren’t an important part of this equation. The Lilliputians managed to keep Gulliver quiet. Every state is welcome irrespective of size. A well run iGaming outfit, no matter what the population, adds more fuel to the rocket that online gambling saviours need to create a ringing in the anti establishment’s ears.

And the numbers keep soaring.

Pennsylvania Online Gambling Bill May Get Airtime in June

With regulated online gambling happening on their borders Pennsylvanians get a boost after The Reading Eagle announces a bill to regulate online gambling in the state will get airtime in June.

Those interested in the legalisation of online gambling in Pennsylvania will be delighted to hear that the bill looking to provide the framework for that to happen (HB 649) is likely to hit a table housed by the Full House of Representatives in June.

The Reading Eagle broke the news on Monday aligning the urgency with the need to close a budget deficit of $1 billion dollars so lawmakers don’t have to turn to the states incumbents to make up the difference. One assumes the author was talking about the work that begins in July for the 2016/17 budget after Gov. Tom Wolf allowed the 2015/16 budget to pass without his signature after nine months of arduous debate.

HB 649’s author Rep. John Payne prefers to talk about the legalisation of online gambling being necessary, not to add money to the state’s coffers, but instead to protect ‘children’ and ‘compulsive gamblers’ from an environment that’s already contains an illegal online gambling industry.

Shared Online Poker Liquidity Between Nevada & New Jersey Becomes a Possibility After Nevada Gov. Brian Sandoval Says, “I’m Ready to Go.”

American based professional online poker players got a boost on Friday after Nevada Gov. Brian Sandoval told a Nevada Gaming Committee meeting that he was ‘ready to go’ with an implementation scheme to share online poker liquidity with his opposite numbers in Atlantic City.

Fully regulated and legal online poker in the United States of America got a boost on Friday after Nevada Gov. Brian Sandoval declared that he would be willing to sign a multi-state Internet agreement with New Jersey ‘immediately.’

The speech came as key people within the eSports and gambling industry convened in Nevada for the Nevada Gaming Policy Committee Meeting chaired by that man Sandoval.

The main focus of the meeting was to try and build bridges between the eSports and Nevada gambling universes. The likes of Seth Schorr, CEO, Fifth Street Gaming, Craig Levine, CEO, Electronic Sports League, and Jake Fyee, General Manager of Echo Fox: an eSports team owned by former L.A. Lakers star Rick Fox were all in attendance.

Lack of hotel rooms at Imperial Pacific’s temporary casino proving a hit with VIPs

Recent reports that VIP turnover at Imperial Pacific International Holdings‘ ‘temporary’ casino on Saipan had maxed out are bogus, according to the casino operator.

Ironically, the claim that the temporary casino’s VIP gaming turnover – which had been rolling around $2b per month in the first three months of 2016 – “will cease to grow and have become saturated” came from an Imperial Pacific public filing earlier this month, despite April’s VIP turnover topping $3.2b.

Mark Brown, CEO of Best Sunshine International, the Imperial Pacific subsidiary that operates the temporary casino, told Macau Business Daily this week that he “hated that line.” Brown said the saturation claim was only included in the filing because the numbers since last November’s launch “were so incredible” that the company was left wondering when the party would end.

Amazingly, Brown says the temporary casino has achieved this growth despite a lack of fixed relationships with junket operators. The casino has been handling its credit relationships with players on an internal basis, meaning no VIP gets to play on Saipan “unless we know you are.”
