Week 7 Sunday Night Football Betting Preview

It is not surprising that the Arizona Cardinals are drawing faint praise from oddsmakers, given how Russell Wilson and the Seattle Seahawks have performed at University of Phoenix Stadium recently. The Cardinals are listed as the two-point favorite against the Seahawks with a 43.5-point total for their Sunday Night Football matchup.

The Seahawks, who are 4-1 straight-up and 3-2 against the spread this season, are also 3-0 SU and 3-0 ATS in their last three road games against the Cardinals. Wilson is capable of carrying his team offensively, but his offensive line is occasionally leaky and might be unable to thwart Cardinals pass rushers such as OLB Chandler Jones and OLB Markus Golden.

Wilson, TE Jimmy Graham and WR Doug Baldwin will also be attempting to find holes in a strong Arizona pass defense led by CB Patrick Peterson and FS Tyrann Mathieu.

China publishes country’s first blockchain research report

Bitcoin’s growing popularity is being felt across the world, and this is particularly evident in China—a country that sees a significant majority of the global bitcoin trading.

Digital currencies currently don’t have a legal status in China, although experts have been attributing the recent surge in the price of bitcoin to the hearty demand from the Chinese market due to fears of Chinese yuan devaluation. However, it appears that the Chinese government is starting to get with the times.

This week, the Chinese Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) came out with a white paper that explores the applications of blockchain—the technology behind popular digital currency bitcoin.

The research paper, titled “the Blockchain Technology and Application Development Whitepaper,” details the applications of blockchain technology, especially in the finance sector. According to the paper, blockchain can be applied in several scenarios, such as supply-chain management, analyzing finance, entertainment, smart manufacturing, social welfare, education and employment.

Goa chief hints at possible sixth Goa river casino

The Indian state of Goa may be getting its sixth river casino.

In August, Goa Chief Minsiter Laxmikant Parsekar said he is considering renewing the license of one offshore casino if its operator pays its fees, including penalties and interest.

That operator was Golden Globe Hotels Private Limited (GGHPL), which had reportedly paid the annual recurring fee and other fees—amounting to an estimated INR50 crore (USD7.45 million)—to the state government. GGHPL, according to several news outlets, has also applied for the renewal of its offshore casino license.

The company has deposited the recurring fees complete with 12 percent interest, from 2011 to 2016, and added INR20 lakh as security deposit.

Macau gov’t brushes aside Crown’s mainland woes

Macau government remains unfazed by a series of crackdowns that Chinese authorities launched against junket operators in mainland China, saying the incident in Crown Casino Resorts will not have any impact on its casino industry.

Macau’s Secretary for Economy and Finance Lionel Leong Vai Tac made this assurance on Thursday as he tries to calm spooked casino operators, who fear that Chinese authorities will target their operations next.

He pointed out that arrest and detention of 18 Crown staffers, including its head of international VIP business Jason O’Connor, should not have any direct bearing on gaming firms operating in Macau.

“There is no direct connection between the incident and local gaming operators,” Leong told Macau DTM, adding that Chinese authorities remain committed to keeping the gaming industry healthy.

New Jersey Senate OKs anti-Icahn casino shutdown bill

Halloween comes at an earlier week for billionaire Carl Icahn as the bill aimed to prevent casino owners from “warehousing” their gaming licenses has passed the Senate.

Icahn has feared that the measure, sponsored by New Jersey Senate President Steve Sweeney, will prevent him from either re-opening or selling the now shuttered Trump Taj Mahal casino.

Press of Atlantic City reported that the Senate voted 29 – 6 in favor of the bill during Thursday’s session.

“Casino owners shouldn’t be manipulating the system and exploiting bankruptcy laws as a way to break unions and take away the rights and benefits of the workers,” Sweeney said, according to the news website. “Atlantic City’s gaming industry is obviously experiencing the difficult challenges of competition from other states, but the answer is not to engage in practices that punish the workers.”

The UFC 205 Main Event Preview – Building The Monster Draw

It’s finally happening. Dana White has brought the Ultimate Fighting Championship to one of the most hallowed sports venues on the planet. Madison Square Garden will host the biggest and best card that the UFC has ever put forth, and it’s headlined by a Champion-vs-Champion title fight featuring Conor McGregor and Eddie Alvarez.

From top to bottom, UFC 205 has it all. Three title fights serve as the headliners, with three more fights featuring Cerrone, Weidman and Meisha Tate. On top of that the preliminary card has names like Frankie Edgar, Rashad Evans, Jim Miller, Thiago Alves and Jeremy Stephens. It simply doesn’t get better than this.

But the main event is Eddie Alvarez defending his lightweight title against Conor McGregor, and it’s a matchup that could absolutely set up an even bigger, monster draw for Dana White and the UFC. It’s a well planned, no-lose strategy to build for things further down the road.

I’ll have a full main card preview next week, but for now I need to focus on this tantalizing main event. It’s just so intelligently put together that I must marvel in all its glory.

NOVOMATIC takes action against unfair imitation of slot games

Lawsuit filed against Euro Games Technology Ltd.

Gumpoldskirchen, October 2016 – NOVOMATIC AG has filed a lawsuit with the Berlin District Court against Euro Game Technology Ltd. (EGT), headquartered in Sofia, Bulgaria, as well as its German sales partner D-Systems GmbH, headquartered in Hanover. NOVOMATIC has filed an action for discontinuance of the further sale of certain slot games offered by Euro Game Technology and is demanding compensation for damages.

The lawsuit is based on the fact that in NOVOMATIC’s view, several games offered by Euro Game Technology Ltd. systematically and unfairly use essential elements (including the reel strips) of well-established NOVOMATIC games. Specifically, the games in question are “Ultimate Hot”, “Olympus Glory”, “Flaming Hot”, “5 Dazzling Hot”, “Lucky Hot” and “Extremely Hot”. Similar legal actions are currently being prepared in other countries.

NIGC refutes online operator’s approval claims; PokerTribe’s gay porn connection

The National Indian Gaming Commission (NIGC) is publicly refuting claims that it approved a tribal operator’s online gambling and daily fantasy sports (DFS) operation.

Earlier this week, the Las Vegas-based Atlantis Gaming Corporation (AGC) issued a press release claiming it had “obtained approval from two federal agencies for its refinement of online gaming.” The release also touted plans for an initial public offering of a new DFS company early next year.

The AGC’s CEO, Donald L. Bailey, is also CEO of the Atlantis Internet Group (ATIG), which in 2012 announced plans to launch the Tribal Gaming Network (TGN). The TGN’s plan was to offer online gambling via terminals based in tribal casinos, which would be linked via intranet to terminals in other tribal casinos.

The AGC’s release said it had entered into a licensing deal with ATIG to use the TGN product, and that Bailey had led the TGN through “approval processes” from the NIGC and the US Department of Justice.

PokerStars Remove Micro Stakes Games From Romania; BetStars #CallIt Promotion

PokerStars remove micro stakes games from the Romanian market, and Leicester City players join forces with members of the Great Britain gold medal winning hockey team in #CallIt promotion.

If you listen carefully, your customers will tell you who they want to be. Unfortunately, money deafens the greedy, and you end up trying to make them what you want them to be.

In June, PokerStars removed the $0.01/$0.02 ring game action across the board. When players who were accustomed to playing these stakes wrote to ask why? They received the general corporate, pre-designed, makes-no-sense, thinks we are all stupid response that they usually dish out.

“It is a trial.”

Partypoker Increase MILLIONS Guarantee to £6m

Partypoker has increased the guarantee of their groundbreaking MILLIONS event to £6m continuing to raise the bar of the largest guaranteed prize pool in the history of live European poker.

Ever since Del Boy spoke to me through the tube about becoming a millionaire, it’s been an unspoken dream simmering in the back of my mind. So when an online poker room slaps the word MILLIONS into the title of a new tournament and capitalises it, I get interested.

The time has never been better for partypoker to claw back a few % from the 71% market share that belongs to PokerStars, and they are pulling every trick out of the playbook including hiring a hoard of sponsored pros and creating the largest guaranteed prize pool in the history of European poker.

A month ago, partypoker drew saliva when they began their qualifying campaign for the £5m Guaranteed partypoker MILLIONS. Today, that guarantee has risen to £6m courtesy of a challenge laid at the feet of the Dusk till Dawn (DTD) Tournament Director, Simon Trumper, by his boss Rob Yong.

Calling The Clock: One Drop; Poker Hall of Fame & Celebrity Poker News

In this week’s poker news round-up we bring you up to speed on the action at the One Drop in Monte Carlo, the two new incumbents of the Poker Hall of Fame and a sprinkling of celebrity poker stories.

When I tell ordinary people, who shop in Tesco that there are individuals in the world who pay €1m to play in a poker tournament they think I am going all Mad Hatter on them. But this week’s that’s what happened, and to make the story sound even more insane, two of them paid €2m to play.

The Big One for One Drop pulled the tent pegs out of the Las Vegas desert and set up camp in Monte Carlo this week. 26 players entered, Guy Laliberte and Andrew Pantling re-entered, making it the smallest One Drop event since its inception.

The players raised €3.1m for the One Drop Foundation, and it could have been so much more had Laliberte not taken the decision to ban professional poker players from competing.
