Bitcoin gaming platform offers logic, strategy-based games

Bitcoin-based gaming platforms are all the rage right now, although most products available are either casinos or lotteries.

One platform, however, plans to change all that. How? By allowing users to compete against other players and win based on their skills alone.

Costa Rica-based CGBets recently launched its bitcoin-based platform, which the company claims offers games different from any average bitcoin gaming platforms in several ways. According to CGBets, the platform “offers skill, logic and strategy games where winning and losing is decided by the players’ skills and intellectual abilities.”

Of course, the winners get to acquire bitcoin. The company also assured that all users are “always pitted against each other and never against the computer,” which means that “it is not the house but the best player who always wins.”

What King Bhumibol’s passing means for Thailand’s casino industry

As casino operators venture out of Macau, many are looking at Thailand as one of the best potential markets in Asia. The country has been a recipient of many proposals seeking to bring casinos to Thailand, including Sheldon Adelson’s Las Vegas Sands.

The strong interest in casino development, however, was met with opposition from Buddhist groups and indecision from tourism sponsors, not to mention the country’s continued political rift.

The death of King Bhumibol Adulyadej on Thursday—after a 70-year reign—is expected to change the political climate in Thailand, which could also extend to the gaming sector.

Union Gaming analyst Grant Govertsen forecast at least a month-long period “very soft Thai-originated gaming volumes at several border casinos run by publicly traded operators,” including Donaco International, Entertainment Gaming Asia, Macau Legend and Silver Heritage.

Pennsylvania Online Gambling’s fate uncertain, says Rep. Payne

There are “50/50” chances that online casino gaming and daily fantasy sports (DFS) will be regulated in Pennsylvania as lawmakers buckle down to take another look at regulated online gaming for the Keystone State.

Pennsylvania Rep. John Payne made the grim update just a week before members of House Gaming Oversight Committee conduct a deliberation on his sponsored bill, which aims to regulate online gaming in the state.

Payne believe that the legislators will not tackle the issue of DFS and online casino gaming together this year with only a weeks left before the Senate session adjourns, according to Online Poker Report.

“It’s a matter of whether the Senate wants to do [online] gaming this year,” Payne said.

Week 6 Sunday Night Football Betting Preview

Indianapolis has ruled the rivalry recently, going 6-1 SU and 5-1-1 ATS in their last seven games against the Texans. Luck was out with injury during the lone loss.

The Colts, who are 2-3 SU and ATS through five games, are 17-3 SU in their last 20 divisional games. Luck might have to overcome two defenses on Sunday – the one he’s facing with OLB Whitney Mercilus and OLB Jadeveon Clowney coming after him, and his own which is allowing 29.6 points per game. Colts WR T.Y. Hilton typically performs well against Houston.

Iowa judge greenlights winner’s lawsuit in lottery-fixing case

The lonely and arduous legal battle for the correct lottery jackpot winnings continues for an Iowa resident after an Iowa District Court Judge took cognizance of his case against the state lottery and the Multi-State Lottery Association (MSLA) in connection with the 2010 lottery-fixing scandal.

District Court Judge Karen Romano threw out on Wednesday the petition of the lottery group asking to dismiss the case filed against them by lottery winner Larry Dawson of Webster City, Iowa, according to ABC News.

Saying that the association and state lottery are not immune from suit, Judge Romano ruled that the court hearing of Romano’s lawsuit may proceed. In a statement, Dawson’s attorneys said they were pleased with the ruling and look forward to continuing the case.

“Lottery players across the country, including Iowans, were defrauded as a result of rigged lottery games,” said the attorneys, Jerry Crawford and Nick Mauro. “This ruling allows us to focus on learning why and how the Iowa Lottery and (the association) allowed this to occur. More important, it provides the opportunity to hold them accountable for their conduct.”

Arkansas Supreme Court removes casino question from November ballot

Casino gambling won’t be coming to the state of Arkansas anytime soon, thanks to the state Supreme Court.

Arkansas voters who head to the polls this November were expecting to face a ballot question (Issue 5) on whether to amend the state constitution to permit the opening of three standalone casinos in three different counties, including Boone County, which is just across the state line from the tourist mecca of Branson, Missouri.

But on Thursday, the state Supreme Court handed down a 3-1 ruling disqualifying Issue 5 because it didn’t clarify that voting ‘yes’ would put the state in conflict with federal law.

In addition to language authorizing the operation of three casinos, Issue 5 also defined ‘gaming’ with a very broad brush, including “accepting wagers on sporting events, including, without limiting the generality of the foregoing, any game, divide, or type of wagering permitted at a casino [in any of seven different states, including Nevada] as of Nov. 8, 2016.”

Ladbrokes Inspired Deal; eSports Betting Changes

UK bookmaker Ladbrokes extends their portfolio of virtual products through their relationship with Inspired Gaming and temporarily drops their eSports market from their sportsbook.

Back when gambling was more important than feeding my son, I was a sucker for a system. I was the guy at the end of the email chain signing up for the next big secret that would make me millions.

They never worked.

Like the time I had a Greyhound Martingale system and reached the bookies betting limit before I could claw back my money. Or the time when I got into arbitrage betting and came home one day to realise one bookmaker had failed to put any of my bets on.
