Slotland Celebrates 18th Birthday with Bonuses and a New Game

October 6, 2016 – 18 years ago this month – about the same time that Google first made its debut — Slotland launched one of the world’s very first real money online casinos.  The games have changed as technology creates new possibilities, but some things will never change: the company has been dedicated to customer service since Day 1.  To celebrate its 18th birthday, Slotland is offering a series of casino freebies and bonuses throughout the month, and a brand new game will be unveiled next week.

“It’s hard to believe we’ve been doing this for 18 years,” mused Slotland’s long-time manager, Michael Hilary. “I mean, there was barely even an internet back then!”

After warming-up the party with a $15 freebie in the first week of October, the casino is currently offering 70% match bonuses and holding a $6500 Birthday Giveaway this week. Next week, a new game will be released and there will be a juicy up to $100 free bonus and up to 250% deposit bonuses to test drive the new game. Later this month there will be more freebies and 75-200% slots bonuses.

It’s been a big year for Slotland. Over the years, the unique casino had created a huge selection of one-of-a-kind slot machines not available at any other online casino. Its in-house designers created another amazing new slot game this year — Phantom of the Opera — but their focus has been more on video poker. Six new video poker games have been introduced since last fall: Deuces and Joker Wild, Joker Wild, 10s or Better, All American, Aces and 8s and Double Bonus Poker.

Russia to boost illegal gambling penalties; Lawrence Ho eyeing Crimea casino?

Russia has proposed stiffer penalties for anyone who offers gambling options outside the country’s designated gaming zones.

On Thursday, the State Duma Committee on Constitutional Legislation recommended amending Russia’s Criminal Code to include new penalties for anyone offering unlicensed gambling activities outside Russia’s six official gaming zones.

Under the current system, illegal gambling operators face only administrative fines and forfeiture of property. Under the new rules, offenders would face jail terms of up to two years, as well as fines of RUB 500k (US $8k) or the complete garnishing of an offender’s salary or other income for up to three years.

Anyone caught leasing a building to an illegal gambling operator more than twice could be locked away for up to four years and hit with fines of up to RUB 1m or the loss of other income for up to five years.

iGaming Education Forum announce two industry experts to deliver Fantasy Sports seminar

CEO of Oulala, Valéry Bollier establishes Malta as future home of Fantasy Sports in Europe ahead of iGaming Education Forum

The iGaming Education Forum has confirmed the inclusion of a dedicated Fantasy Sports session to be delivered by the co-founder and CEO of Maltese fantasy football company Oulala, Valéry Bollier, and Malta Gaming Authority’s Senior Legal Advisor, Michele Magro. The session, which will take place on Day Two of the event (November 17, 2016) during SiGMA 2016, will focus on the current trends and future trends governing this emerging section of gaming with unique insights from two passionate voices working within the sector. The forum’s organisers, iGaming Academy, said they were pleased to be able to secure two such prominent figures in the Fantasy Sports sector with a profound understanding of the Maltese territory that they believe will deliver engaging workshops and help them in their aim to ‘ grow the industry through education.’

With over eleven years of experience in the iGaming industry, regular appearances at industry conferences and seminars and a passion for Daily Fantasy Sports (DFS) and ‘Big Data’, Oulala’s Valéry Bollier believes Malta to be the future home of the DFS sector in Europe. He explained: “Daily Fantasy Sports was born in the USA in 2008. From scratch, an entire industry grew in less than 10 years, creating thousands of jobs, taxes and wealth. As usual, Malta’s authorities were the first ones to foresee the potential of DFS in Europe. Despite a growing demand from the European customers, none of the legislators had yet decided to create a specific legal frame for this very new activity. This is not really a surprise as it is quite common on Internet that the market moves at a much quicker pace than the legislators.

Commenting on the development of the sector in Malta, Valéry said: “DFS is a game of skill but most countries, because they had no licensing process, considered it, by default, as a ‘pool betting’ game of luck. It was crucial for us to push for a legal framework adapted to the multiple specificities of our sector.

World Champion showcase for NOVOMATIC at G2E 2016

The Global Gaming Expo (G2E) 2016 in Las Vegas was the perfect opportunity for the NOVOMATIC Group to present its latest efforts in North America through its subsidiary NOVOMATIC Americas. This year’s exhibition booth increased in size to make way for the vast array of product innovation on display for both North American and international markets, as well as dedicated areas for Greentube, Octavian, NSBS and NLS. Representatives from the US, Canada, Latin America, Europe and Asia were all at the show to present the latest developments and meet their respective customers.

NOVOMATIC Americas created maximum impact at G2E, driving people to the booth from around the show floor throughout the three-day event. The centrepiece of the exhibit was the World Championship of Slots™ (WCOS) that generated a huge buzz with operators watching the tournaments and understanding how to utilise this never before seen concept on their casino floors. A tournament took place every hour of the show and the surrounding area was bursting with excitement as attendees wanted to try their luck on the games.

WCOS is an industry-first slot competition format produced in collaboration with Emmy award-winning game show producer Gary Hunt Productions, Entropy Entertainment and media sales company Trifecta Entertainment & Media that gives players the chance of winning up to $1 million on a national TV show, as well as offering sponsor casinos a unique marketing opportunity with reach into more than 85 million homes. Casinos are empowered to host their own qualifying events as often as they like, and the winners are eligible to move onto the WCOS television show qualifying events.

Speaking from the show floor, Gary Hunt said: “This is a first-time event where people who love playing slots will have a television show that they can enjoy. We will also be able to find people who are watching at home – who have never played slot machines before – and they will have the chance to see what fun they’re missing.”

Online Slots Tournaments launched by CasinoBonusesNow.com

CasinoBonusesNow.com has officially launched their online slots tournaments for players. The online casino tournaments are mainly for slots but also include blackjack and video poker. Tournaments are very popular amongst slots players although not all casino software companies have adopted their technology to host any type of casino tournament. At Casino Bonuses Now (CBN), they focus on all the slots tournaments but only for recommended casinos.

Aside from slots, they have also segmented tournaments to include video poker and blackjack tournaments. Although there are not many of these types of table game and video poker tournaments available but there are always a few weekly events happening at any given moment.

How the Tournaments Work

The tournaments can have a similar interface as a poker tournament where you have a list of tournaments with buy-in amounts and prize pools and with some casino softwares like Microgaming you’ll have leaderboards so players can see how they fare against their competition.

UK gov’t mulling total ban on daytime TV gambling advertising

UK-licensed gambling operators could be banned from advertising during the day, according to a report in Friday’s Times newspaper.

On Thursday, BBC News online editor Nick Sutton (@suttonnick) tweeted the front page of Friday’s Times newspaper, which claimed the UK government’s upcoming review of the gambling industry would ban all gambling TV ads before the 9pm watershed. The Times quoted an unidentified senior minister saying the gambling industry’s “luck has run out.”

Under the UK’s existing rules, gambling companies are permitted to advertise before 9pm only if (a) they’re a bingo operator or (b) the ads appear during breaks in a live sporting event. The Times‘ source claimed that the sports exemption allowed online betting operators to “basically be advertising to children all weekend.”

Last month, the Daily Mail reported that the UK Department for Culture, Media and Sport (DCMS) planned to launch a review into the fixed-odds betting terminals (FOBT) in bookmakers’ betting shops. The Mail suggested this review could also examine the impact of betting advertising.

Philippine lottery teams with cops to stamp out illegal numbers games

The Philippines state-run lottery operator has declared war on illegal gambling operators and the police that protect them.

On Thursday, the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) announced it would impose tougher rules and regulations on small town lottery (STL) operations in a bid to stamp out the illegal jueteng numbers game.

GMA News quoted PCSO chairman Jose Jorge Corpuz saying he’d met with Philippine National Police (PNP) officials, regional directors and city directors to discuss the new rules, which Corpuz said were meant to underscore the fact that “STL is the only legal numbers game that will operate in the country.”

There are currently only 18 licensed STL authorized agent corporations in the country. Corpuz blamed the previous PCSO board for their failure to approve some 189 agent applications, and invited would-be agents to submit new applications before Oct. 31. Corpuz expects some of these new applicants will be illegal operators looking to go legit.
