Thai police bust woman for live stream striptease betting promo

A Thailand online personality has been fined for taking her kit off on a Facebook Live stream to promote a gambling site.

This week, Thai media reported that 26-year-old Ponpan Mayple Promdum (pictured), a self-titled ‘net idol pretty’ with a kajillion social media followers, was fined by police for violating Thailand’s Computer Crime Act by exposing her naughty bits on a Facebook Live stream through an account called Girl24-Live.

Ponpan, who also goes by the name Mayple Pink Pink, appeared in the nothing-left-to-the-imagination striptease on February 6. The model’s bumping and grinding was sponsored by an unidentified online gambling site, which reportedly paid Pinky a whopping THB 3k (US $86) for the 30-minute video, which makes her something of a cheap date at less than $3 per minute.

As estimated 150k viewers tuned into the risqué video, which didn’t go unnoticed by local authorities and/or prudes. Thailand’s Technology Crime Suppression Division promptly leaped into action and arrested Ponpan, who confessed to all charges and was fined THB 500, which really demonstrates that crime (and sex) does pay.

Mohegan Sun Pocono faces fine for ties to unapproved affiliate

A probe into financial irregularities at the Mohegan Tribal Gaming Authority’s Pennsylvania casino may have contributed to this week’s surprise resignation of the group’s CEO Bobby Soper.

On Tuesday, Soper abruptly announced that he was leaving the MTGA to “take on a new challenge.” Soper, who’d been CEO since 2015, declined to specify the nature of his new challenge, nor why he was leaving more than a year before his current MTGA contract expired.

On Wednesday, the MTGA filed papers with the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) that referenced a review of “possible operational control deficiencies” at the group’s Mohegan Sun Pocono casino in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania.

The filing notes that the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board’s Office of Enforcement Control (OEC) had flagged the casino’s “system of tracking and reporting the issuance of certain customer incentives such as free slot play.”

Regulation to kill Kenya gambling, betting firms warn

Betting firms in Kenya are now up in arms over a proposed law to regulate gambling in Kenya.

The Daily Nation reported that members of the association of betting firms in Kenya are opposing the proposed law of Gem Member of Parliament Jakoyo Midiwo to regulate gambling, which they believe will do more harm than good to the industry.

Calling the bill “misguided,” the group’s representatives asked a National Assembly committee to defer it until after consultations and a compromise reached.

“The Bill requires significant amendments. It would not be the same Bill as it was at the first reading,” Association of Gaming Operators of Kenya chairman Ronald Karauri said, according to the news report. “There appears to be a concerted targeting of the industry through measures that are designed to cripple the industry,” Mr Karauri said.
