Informal settlers block Bloomberry from developing second casino

Casino operator Bloomberry Resorts is pushing back its plans to build a second casino in the Philippines because the property where it will stand has yet to be cleared of informal settlers.

The company has been eyeing to develop a “mixed-use” complex with a hotel and casino on a 1.5 hectare property within the 45-hectare Vertis North development in the Quezon City Central Business District, located about 23 kilometers away from Solaire, this year.

But in a recent interview with Manila-based reporters, Bloomberry Resorts chairman and CEO Enrique Razon Jr. revealed that they have to delay the construction due to the presence of the informal settlers in the property.

“We may start construction early next year,” Razon said, according to Rappler.

FA Cup Semi Final Review: Wenger goes for record; Chelsea double hopes

The greatest pair of FA Cup Final Semi-Final clashes in recent times got underway at Wembley Stadium this weekend and fans were in for a treat with goals, controversy, and two cracking matches.

When Spurs and Chelsea came out of the hat to face each other in a dramatic FA Cup Semi-Final clash, the world was about to see who was the best team in English football, and as it turns out, it was the side that lost.

One of these two clubs will win the English Premier League (EPL), but only Chelsea can fight for the double after hitting Spurs for four with a clinical display of you screw up, and we will punish you.

Wembley Stadium was like one of those old kettles’s that you heat up on the stove, and it was whistling like crazy in only the fifth minute. Toby Alderweireld upended the speedy Pedro at the edge of the box and Willian, in the side ahead of Eden Hazard, put it away like he always does.

The supplier side: Betting on Football debates key issues affecting the value chain

The betting industry’s leading suppliers will be debating the key issues affecting the value chain across the sector at next month’s Betting on Football conference at Stamford Bridge.

The event will explore how online gaming suppliers have been affected by a wave of M&A and an increased focus on in-house competencies within the industry.

BetConstruct CEO Vahe Baloulian, BtoBet CEO Kostandina Zafirovska, SBTech CEO Richard Carter and Jacob Lopez Curciel, the CEO for gold event sponsor OPTIMA, will be assessing how the B2B supplier side of the industry has been impacted by multi-asset enterprises such as GVC and NYX Gaming, how suppliers should be streamlining services to stand out from the competition and how they can dissuade partners from moving product development in-house.

For example, GVC Holdings has reported considerable savings from the 2016 acquisition of Bwin.party, after eliminating duplication in areas such as technology, while Coral announced the launch of an ‘in-house’ developed sportsbook platform last September to centralise its mobile, tablet and desktop devices. London based betting exchange Smarkets is another company that develops all products in-house, which includes its new mobile app for both Android and iOS.

EPL week 34 review: Hull and Swansea with vital wins

Week 34 of the English Premier League saw Hull and Swansea pull of crucial wins in the bid to avoid the drop, Crystal Palace reach safety after a win at Liverpool, and Man Utd close the gap on neighbours Man City to one point.

With the big boys competing in the FA Cup this weekend is was left to the little boys at the bottom of the table to provide the tension and drama that the punters have become used to in the Premier League.

With Sunderland and Middlesbrough lost causes, all contact lenses were on Hull and Swansea who both faced what looked on paper to be the easiest opponent’s they will face in the run in.

Watford arrived at the KCOM Stadium with three wins from four, but last week’s victory against Swansea ensured Premier League football for next season, so you alway felt they would arrive in Hull with the handbrake slightly applied.
