Interest rate rejig to save Scientific Games $25M annually: analyst

Gaming technology provider Scientific Games has completed an amendment to its credit agreement, reducing the interest rate on its $3.28 billion of existing term loans to London Interbank Offered Rate (LIBOR) plus 325 basis points with no floor.

All of the term loans under the credit agreement are scheduled to mature on August 14, 20124, subject to accelerated maturity.

Scientific Games CEO Kevin Sheehan credited the better-than-expected loan repricing to the company’s improved operating execution, which he said generated “stronger cash flows” and deleveraged the balance sheet, allowing Scientific Games “to amend our credit agreement on more favorable terms.”

“Moreover, by improving our capital structure, future cash flow is further strengthened,” Sheehan said in a statement.

CBF and Sportradar finalise integrity alliance to ensure all Brazil’s national leagues are monitored

Underlining its commitment to protecting the integrity of Brazilian football across all its leagues, Confederação Brasileira de Futebol (CBF) has put in place a critical integrity partnership with Sportradar to employ the Fraud Detection System across all matches in the country’s national leagues. Under the guidance of the world leaders in match-fixing detection, prevention and intelligence, the CBF has also launched its own in-house Integrity Department, putting in place an Integrity Officer who will work closely with Sportradar going forward.

Sportradar already monitors betting patterns on Campeonato Brasileiro Série A and Série B as well as the Brazil Cup through previous agreements with international football governing bodies. By adding this partnership into the mix, Sportradar will add oversight across Série C and Série D. In addition, CBF will have the opportunity to call on Sportradar’s unique Fraud Intelligence Unit, to supplement the monitoring and detection services.

Speaking about the partnership CBF President Marco Polo Del Nero underlined: “Our commitment is on the integrity of all the competitions, safeguarding all matches from any interference. The betting market is growing and we have to ensure that our competitions are not hit by despicable integrity attacks.  We were looking for a leading partner in the world market, with widely recognized work and which already had a broad knowledge of the Brazilian football structure. We are delighted to shake hands with Sportradar.”

Sportradar Managing Director Integrity Services Andreas Krannich added: “We have put a lot of energy in building our reputation in North and South America and it is so gratifying to see that work come to fruition. Brazil is so important to the global game – a powerful and much-loved standard bearer for football’s past glories and future excitement. Shaking hands with CBF is a proud moment for us and it only motivates us to continue building our reputation and working hard to protect football and sport in every corner or the globe”.

As the name suggests, the LAST MAN STANDING wins the prize pool; but now the winner will also get the chance to “Beat the Streak” in an attempt to pick all 20 different teams and achieve a 20 week winning streak.

New industry reports put The Stars Group in focus

A ground-breaking review of The Stars Group has been released as the company reaches a critical juncture.

Industry experts, Poker Industry PRO, have unveiled a series of reports analysing The Stars Group (formally Amaya), giving insight into the world’s largest online poker company, including a review of the company’s poker, casino and sports verticals.

Over six individual reports, hundreds of pages and charts, the reports cover the group’s position in the global igaming space and anticipate the maneuvering the company will have to do in the complex world of global gaming regulation along with providing a look into the company’s efforts to evolve online poker.

Findings in the reports also show that  ex-Amaya CEO David Baazov’s plan to double poker revenue in five years may have been overly ambitious. However, the reports show that there are positive indicators, both internal and external, that there is still growth potential for The Stars Group in online poker.

Esports One creates LOL data bot perfectly suited for gambling

Esports data analytics company, Esports One, is preparing to launch a beta-version of a League of Legends live streaming data analytics interface that would be perfect for gambling.

I write about esports, but FIFA apart, I have never played them. I did once load up World of Warcraft (WOW) after watching Jane McGonigal’s TED Talk hoping to turn my love of gaming into a world service, but never got my Orc off the toilet because I couldn’t figure out what the hell I was doing.

And when I watch a League of Legends (LOL) or a Dota 2 match, all I see are ant like coloured blurs whizzing around the screen like some bad acid trip. It puts me off, and I imagine, it puts off millions of prospective esports and video game converts.

Esports One proposes to do something about that, and more. The esports data crunchers, currently in the midst of a $2m seed funding round, are seeking interested parties for their closed beta-phase of a new LOL product that looks a winner.

Fournette, McCaffrey, Watson lead OROY betting lines

Being picked higher obviously does not guarantee better results on the field as a rookie, which is why the NFL Draft is such a gamble. This year’s crop of first-year players will be intriguing to watch, led by two running backs and one quarterback listed as +400 co-favorites to be named 2017 NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year.

Oddsmakers have pegged Leonard Fournette of the Jacksonville Jaguars and Christian McCaffrey of the Carolina Panthers as the running backs most likely to win the award along with quarterback Deshaun Watson of the Houston Texans.

Fournette was selected fourth overall by the Jaguars out of LSU while McCaffrey went eighth to the Panthers from Stanford. Watson led Clemson to the national championship last year in an upset of Alabama before he was chosen 12th overall by the Texans.

The first offensive player picked in the 2017 NFL Draft was North Carolina quarterback Mitch Trubisky, who went to the Chicago Bears second overall. The Bears moved up one spot in a draft-day trade with the San Francisco 49ers to secure Trubisky. Chicago had also signed Mike Glennon as a free agent in the offseason to replace the departed Jay Cutler, but Trubisky could end up winning the starting job with a strong showing in the preseason. Trubisky is +1000 to win Offensive Rookie of the Year honors.
