Welcome to the revolution: Unikrn acquire the killer team at ChallengeMe

The esports gambling operators, Unikrn, has acquired the tournament platform ChallengeMe in a multi-million dollar acquisition Rahul Sood calls the biggest of his life.

I was asked the other day if I had a man crush on Rahul Sood because I write about his company frequently. I don’t. In many ways, Unikrn reminds me of PokerStars when the Isle of Man team is firing on all cylinders, and not acting like a cat that’s just had its balls snipped, and the holes are sewn shut.

I write about gambling related news stories, primarily poker, and sometimes trying to find a story worthy of reading feels like a fishbone in the throat.

And then, every once in a while, a company comes along that is growing at such a rate, a press release or blog post signifying a change lands in my inbox with the frequency of those AddThisTeam spam emails that just won’t die.

Wednesday NBA Playoff games odds and betting trends

In the NBA‘s eight first-round playoff series openers this past weekend, the home team was favored in each and won six of the eight. The two that were upset were the Portland Trail Blazers by the New Orleans Pelicans and the Cleveland Cavaliers by the Indiana Pacers.

LeBron James’ Cavaliers losing was the biggest surprise because it ended an amazing streak of 21 straight first-round victories for James dating to his Miami Heat days. It surely wasn’t James’ fault on Sunday as he had a triple-double of 24 points, 12 assists and 10 rebounds but got very little support in the 98-80 blowout. The other four starters combined for just 25 points.

Game 2 is Wednesday back in Cleveland and the Cavaliers are 8-point favorites. This is the seventh time since 2011 that James has trailed in a postseason series against an Eastern Conference opponent. His teams have rallied to win each of the previous six, last in the 2015 conference semifinals against the Chicago Bulls. Of course, James-led teams have won the Eastern Conference an amazing seven straight times.

New payment system in place to make online gaming easier

PlaySugarHouse.com is First in US to Launch Wyrz Payment Solution

CHERRY HILL, NJ-April 18, 2018 – SugarHouse Online Casino is making history once again in the iGaming world by being the first in the country to introduce a new alternative payment that now makes it easier for players with credit and debit cards to reliably deposit into their online gaming accounts at PlaySugarHouse.com. Wyrz is a secure way for all players to load money from their preferred cards into their account, which until now hasn’t always been so easy.

Many may not be aware that one of the biggest challenges with online gaming in New Jersey has to do with depositing money to play. When a player tries to fund their account with a conventional debit or credit card payment, the transaction would often fail. But thanks to the partnership between PlaySugarHouse.com and Wyrz, that is no longer an issue for those looking to wager and win on the exciting games offered on the site.

“We’re excited that more of our players can now reliably use their preferred payment methods, debit and credit cards, to fund their online casino accounts at PlaySugarHouse.com,” said Richard Schwartz, President of Rush Street Interactive.

GEG not abandoning $500M Boracay casino project, LRWC says

To build or not to build? That is the $500-million Boracay casino question.

The Philippine government and the local partner of Macau-based casino operator Galaxy Entertainment Group (GEG) gave conflicting statements on Tuesday regarding the fate of a planned multi-million dollar integrated resort on the island of Boracay.

It all started with the pronouncement of Philippine Tourism Assistant Secretary Frederick Alegre that GEG had given in to government pressure and would look for another venue for its planned 23-hectare integrated resort.

Rappler reported that Alegre gave a press conference in Boracay to announce that GEG and its local partner, Leisure & Resorts World Corp. (LRWC), will have to “repeat” the process to secure a license to build a Philippine casino.

DraftKings gets all-clear to bring fantasy sports down under

DraftKings CEO Jason Robins’ plan of expanding his business in Australia is no longer a fantasy.

Australian state regulator Northern Territory Racing Commission has given U.S.-based daily fantasy sports (DFS) operator DraftKings the go signal to offer fantasy sports in Australia, the Digital Journal reported on Tuesday.

The DFS operator is planning to offer DFS contests to Australian consumers in the second quarter of 2018.

Australia will go down DraftKings’ history book as the first country outside of North America and Europe where the DFS operator will operate. Australia is also the eighth country where DFS fans could access DraftKings’ offerings. Aside from the U.S. and Australia, DraftKings operates in UK, Ireland, Germany, Austria, Malta, and Canada.
