Beau Lane has bred, raised, and sold horses for most of his 76 years. But the veteran consignor had never had a sale as successful as the Keeneland September Yearling Sale, and he plans to donate part of his proceeds to his church.

Keeneland reported 187 yearlings were sold Sept. 22 for $2,228,600, marking a 51.83% increase over $1,467,800 for 135 horses sold during last year’s 12th and final session of the sale.
